Well I'm happy at least pretty much everyone agree with this so we can expect BiS to fix it sooner or later. Everytime I join a server with my buddy we end up complaining loudly about the lack of damages bullets and grenades deal, especially while the AI is so much more accurate than you and totally unaffected by wounds while you're struggling with your sights swaying all over the place. I found out the other day that even the heavy sniper rifles aren't a guaranted one shot kill, the IA just kept running like not a single fuck was ever given... This has to be the most game breaking thing next to the invisible flames' carnage I've seen so far.

Video of how Iron Front 1944 might look like in 2014
dunedain replied to fabio_chavez's topic in IRON FRONT: LIBERATION 1944 - GENERAL
To make things clear, I understand modders won't be authorized to upgrade and distribute Iron Front's assets even if it still requires IF installed. This is going to be the same as AIA, which happens "solely on the config level", as there was no license to edit and distribute Armed Assault and Arma2 assets on Arma3 until recently. -
I didn't want to play the campaign until both JSRS and Blastcore came out. It's working great for me so far. Congrats on the release.

Arma 3: Community wishes & ideas- NO DISCUSSION
dunedain replied to Maio's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Extra sliders below visibility options for infantry, ground vehicles and anything airborne would be nice. Maybe it would also be useful to have three different overall visibility sliders for when you're on foot, in a vehicle or airborne. Some servers have this functionality and it's pretty useful. There is plenty of room for extra sliders in the option menu so why not if it helps making the game smoother and more adapted to different situations. Numerical hints on the sound and mouse sensitivities sliders would be very welcome too. :) -
Thank you for the hard work. I've been waiting for this for a long time.I can finally start the campaign now that Blastcore and JSRS are out.

POLL: Would the release a select few arma 3 units benefit the community
dunedain replied to farside's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
I guess in the manner of the recent move from BIS to open files from Armed Assault and Arma2 and make them available for everyone to modify and distribute them within the Arma3 platform. He wants them to open one unit from each class "infantry, rotary-wing and fixed-wing aircraft, armor ect..." to be freely modified and distributed so people can learn faster how the new engine features work. -
It probably is for Scandinavian countries. Anyway it would be vastly better if it actually also put snow layers on objects.

@A3CM - ArmA 3 Chernarus Mod
dunedain replied to alduric's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Seems promising! :) Any plans on porting the terrains from the DLCs as well? Shapur "BAF"; Proving Grounds "PMC" or Bystrica and Bukovina "ACR"? I really wish BiS will eventually open up some assets from DayZ Standalone when it's out, so it can be used to update A2 Chernarus with open buildings. -

The screens and video footages are definitely from the Real Virtuality 4 though. So I take it this is an AIAish port of Iron Front to Arma3 for the people who own both? If correct this is going to be epic, my deepest thanks to whoever involved in this. :) -
Very nice. So I get this is a rework of United Sahrani which features Rahmadi but will it have Porto as well? I haven't fought on Sahrani since Arma2 came out, can't wait!

Maybe an issue with the lods?

COD VS BF4 video - What's does it got to do with ArmA 3?
dunedain replied to shay_gman's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
True, it's genuinely much more tactical than what the vast majority of public servers on Arma3 can offer, plus the insane amount of maps and factions it has. Moreover I find it funny NeuroFunker would mention performances while PR runs much slower than BF3 for me, because they actually pushed an obsolete engine to its limits. -
4km² is pretty much the maximum size for a BF2 map if you want to have some details on it. Project Reality has some big and overall good looking maps. But well the engine is old and wasn't particularly optimized even back in 2005. I'm pretty sure you could make rather large maps on the Frostbite3 with plenty of details, underground structures and all but it would still be pretty limited compared to what the Real Virtuality does I think.

I really hope this is meant as a joke, or are game critics really at the bottom of human intelligence... :j: -
PUNCH OUT! Maybe somewhere down the line.

Even modded OFP had this... :j: -
Arma 3: Community wishes & ideas- NO DISCUSSION
dunedain replied to Maio's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Well at least you had your G36 in OFP, Armed Assault and Arma2... France is next to Britain when it comes to military power and involvement in NATO missions and yet BiS never showed any love to French Armed Forces. The French community is very lucky to have some very talended French modders to fill the gap though. -
Well for consistency sake some of those effects would probably end up being turned off in multiplayer anyway, like waves and smokes. Moreover it would require BiS to attribute more ressources only to please a portion of the community. Although I really wish they could fix the smokes for everyone...

Very good looking stormy sea. http://youtu.be/H4ACKAUU3O0?t=3m50s Smokes and explosions that don't glitch through walls.

Sorry but I really don't think you're representative of this community in any way. For most people here, it's not that big of a deal. That tiny very vocal minority whining over and over gets annoying though, and that's not the first time we've been talking this over in similar threads and we already know how it's gonna end. Sorry... Well too bad then I guess.
-
That's a silly argument. What's the current female population in the Arma community? I think we've come to the same point the other thread was closed. It's likely female models will come later anyway since DayZ is using the same skeletons as Arma3 and the two teams share their assets. I suspect BiS has other priorities that are much more pressing than pandering to your guys' feelings though.
-
I may be wrong but I don't think Arma3 handles mags like it does attachments, it's only the one model of magazine per weapon.
-
Israel has to prepare women for warfare because of their geopolitical situation which is precarious to say the least. Israel isn't a faction in the game as far as I know anyway. The vast majority of countries with active combat units do not allow women in infantry roles because they couldn't even complete basic infantry training and those who could would just end up being a liability for their units anyway. That's common sense, and the reality of gender differences. Feminists in the US argue that physical requirements should be lowered, which is utterly insane... Don't be so eager to call people backwards, while you're just talking out of your dogmatic ass. This being said, I'm not against women in Arma games, it does makes sense for women to be involved in combat when your country is invaded and it of course happened in the past. So at least female civilians capable of using weapons would be great. However having women among NATO or Iranian infantry troops would just be another step into that gaping hole that is political correctness. This ain't CoD or Battlefield...

I think ACE had those since Armed Assault. It's definitely a nice touch though.
-
Brilliant weapon pack! :o Visually it's near perfection. It only needs "animated" zeroing of iron sight like for the M203, magazines working like attachments so you can have different looking ones and obviously tactical reload. But I guess it's up to BiS to nail it. :)
-
Same here. I'm gonna wait for Blastcore and JSRS. :)
