"Ragdoll" falling from buildings
dunedain replied to Solus's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Yep, nice trick, funny situations in perspective. :D But calling this nice addon Ragdoll hmm .. -

There is some parts with strong feelings but hey I won't spoil. :)

I loved it, I almost cried, felt anger and really enjoyed the very end of the film. Really great movie. Looking forward to Neill Blomkamp's work.

Typical, maybe they'll release a standalone expansion with everything was supposed to be in the initial game .. :D

France, Brittany near Brest.

I think this one is "a little" more representative of a nation military power, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_level_of_military_equipment Sort the table by total budget and the most powerful nation is USA followed by China<>Russia, France and Uk. Yaii it's totally subjective according to the purchasing power, technology and training of each country but still ... War sucks anyway, nothing to be proud of, just imagine what your government could do with all this money.

ArmA2 Project Reality
dunedain replied to monty67t's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Aren't they making Project Reality 2 on the C4 Engine ? "source" Not forgetting that they keep working on Project Reality. Maybe you should consider you sources. :) -
What a jerk .. :j: I'm of those "shit, inept" guys who have some serious fps issues with Arma2, I won't call myself incapable judging how the computer I builded handles well all others high end games, not mentioning a fresh install and my 10 years of computer gaming experience. Even if some people here still say that this game works like a charm, for me it's pretty clear that it does not especially on "new" hardware. But hey nothing new I've been playing this since Ofp in 2001, back then it was working better on my syster's outdated computer than on my hardware fanatic uncle's 20000 Francs computer.. :butbut: So thanks Dead3yez for this useful addon, for now. :)

Let's download that 3Gb great mod again.

Back to Arma1 I was using Vopsound, and I still using it on Arma2. Chammy's sound and HiFi Novus Aevum are great too, it's clearly a matter of taste. :)

Drinking water, MRE's and soldier's needs...
dunedain replied to Blake's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Yaii combat jack in Arma2 would be cool too. No seriously, it can be nice to see that kind of features on some games but I definitely don't see the interest on Arma2.. -
Erff no torrent :'(

I'm currently playing with Arma2 beta patch, CBA, SLX, Vopsound and Sakura sun and light fx plus a "Test" folder where I put units I want to try.

I daresay that must be the sad truth behind all this.. See the 8 years old Ghost Recon, which you can get for 10€ with its two expansion pack, that have its huge community addon compilation Heroes Unleashed which makes it even now a much better tactical shooter than those consolish casual sequels Ubisoft's released. :aa: I can't see any other reason why they'ld threaten those guys truying to give Raven Shield a second life. That's not like players keeping playing Raven Shield could buy R6 Vegas.. :j:

Watch comments, it seems he's telling bullshit, fake review.

You can download IW for free on Fileplanet, anyway, you can't anymore play Iron Wrath online since Ubisoft removed the server supposed to check your serial key for this one... Still that IW is really good, equivalent to Athena Sword in content, it worths its 1GB to download. ;) I played Rs and As weeks ago, it works well and I've done some good coop with very nice dudes, few but good quality players still there. :) About mods at least two good projects aren't dead yet, R6 Complete Edition and Ordnance Project. But Ubisoft isn't really helping by threatening them for some odd reasons ... :j:

So being on "THE forum for THE most sim-ey combined arms game out there..." prohibites us from being objective ? Ofp Dr has been built for console before pc, with all experience most people here have of tactical shooters being ported to consoles I don't think there is a lot to argue with .. Doesn't make console players stupid, just different tastes and pad's limitations. :) R6 and Gr are gone, but BiS still here, no need to worry of what Cm is doing with its Ofp Dr. May be a nice game. I'm sure you can do it yourself, but yes I must apologize after you've enlighted your point. so sorry. :)

I agree but look at ProfTournesol's posts concerning OfpDr, the best way to deal with this is just to ignore it... Truying to make him rationalize would be like telling Jehovah's Witnesses that what they're saying is bullshit, you'ld not see the end. I think he loves a bit too much BiS. :) About the vid it looks ok but there is definitely something wrong with colors, that's really disturbing me, I hope i'm not alone. :j:

Red Orchestra is moddable, so no reason HoS would not. :) I love Ro, particularly Darkest Hour. Even if it lacks of some features like weapon collision which makes a crucial difference between a pm and a rifle with or without bayonet in CQB environment and that will be in HoS ! sweet!! Covering system and blind fire seems really good too, I only hope they'll add some body consciousness like in BiS' games so I could see my own legs and bullets actually shooting from third person correct position which isn't really the case in Ro especially with deployed mg on bumpy ground. And finally we'll be able to climb obstacles, those who know the pain to jump a 30cm tall wall will I'm sure say alleluhia ! But I'm not fan of some hud things they added like friendly radar and hit direction direction, those things are good for Cod like games not in a tactical shooter taking place in WW2. For me, magazine count, stance indicator and dagriam of the body which show where you're hit is the most realistic way to go. I really hope that realistic mode will run on most servers and that the hud will be fully tweakable client side as it is in Ostfront. Certainly the game I await the most for the next year with Arma2 Ao. :)

ArmA II: Operation Arrowhead discussion thread
dunedain replied to Tonci87's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Just my opinion, but.. If they don't plan to update old units and weapons with OA's features "IR lasers, FLIR, Flashlight ect.." on the merged install because of a lack of time, technique issues ect.. which I can understand well. I'ld not see any other interest in this "merged install" than hush some unhappy customers with nice prospects.. I mean anyway if you own OA and want to play with Arma2 you'll have to install both and even if it "saves" time to use a single shortcut, still the problem of mission makers that may use contents from both games, not cool for those who won't have both Arma2. I would rather wait for a community made Arma2 pack, and let Arma2 and Arma2 OA as two different games. When I heard of this I was like "cool we'll see something like Maddox Games did with its combat flight simulator (FB, PF, AE, Pe2 ect..)" a game that takes profit of its sequel's features when merged. But now I'm kinda disapointed even if I still really interested by what Operation Arrowhead will provide. I personally think that BiS should focus on both games separately, fix Arma2 and make OA worth its 30€ rather than wasting valuable time in something shaky. -

Operation Arrowhead: The questions and answers thread
dunedain replied to W0lle's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Maddox Games did this with Forgotten Battles and Pacific Fighters "~1 year and half between both", then about 2 years after PF they released 1946 sort of final product with everything from both games and the 4 addons out, near 300 aircrafts !! 6 years after FB, they still polishing their game with updates including tweaks and new content. I really hope that Arma2 will get such good attention. Not really, plus that the press "only PC" I read always talk highly of this game, even if it's like you say niche game and I do agree that unfortunately there is not many alive.. For what happened to R6 and Gr let's blame that evil French publisher named Ubisoft.. :(
