    I am running a Ravage server that I wanted to tell you about. It only requires four mods total and offers Enhanced Movement as an optional fifth server. The server is just now launching today.     That DayZ on Altis mission was the first thing I ever released on workshop. It needs a full overhaul update, in my opinion. I'm going to release a new Ravage sandbox using BP Addons in the near future.

    I set up my Discord invite to anyone who wants to join if they want to message me or discuss any issues they have. I could post a new forum topic on BI, but I feel that more people are using Discord these days and it's a great way to quickly message others, etc. Most of the comments I get go into one of two categories. "I really love what you are doing" or "This completely sucks." I do get a good suggestion from time to time, but there are a lot of demands out there. Nothing wrong with people offering ideas, but it feels like people are a bit overly aggressive or dare I say obsessive over expecting more free work. I have found that the more personal that I make something... the closer it is to what I really want it to be, it's more likely that someone will want it to be something else or different. I want to give a specific example as to why this can get out of hand. The day I launched this last mod... some guy threw a fit about the Crossbow reload animation not being good enough. This is something that's not in Arma and is not easy to do. I was using a general reload animation from Arma. I already knew this was something to add and was working on getting it implemented, and I said on day 1 that I would get it in. He persisted to post that same general comment for three days in a row, hurling some nasty insults, etc. He actually posted twice in an hour, saying basically the same thing. This is a form of entitlement that you see in the modding community sometimes. Another frequent complaint that I see on other missions and pages... are people being mad that DLC are needed for a specific mod, as if they are entitled to pay as little as possible for as much free stuff, etc. I suppose it's one thing if someone buys a product and they expect better. It's another in the modding world, where anyone can just sub to a different mod if one does not offer what people need or want, etc. I've really learned just how complex making a mod can be. How time consuming it is, etc. I also began to realize that this is modding and it's not to be expected to be a perfect product. I feel that if someone loves what I'm doing and wants to discuss it further, they won't have a problem coming to Discord to talk about it. They can always leave the Discord after whatever issue is resolved. I also believe that people are less likely to join a Discord just to be negative.

    I just discovered that you can remove all users from being able to comment on workshop pages. Is this a new feature or has it always been there and I've been oblivious? Best day, EVER.

    Wanted to let people know that I have launched this standalone gear and weapons mod, based on the Breaking Point weapons and gear. This mod was specifically made for mission makers and server owners who want to use apocalyptic looking weapons (older models that have aged with cracks and scratches). I know that I have a Ravage mission planned specifically with these weapons. There are nearly 60 weapons total, including pistols, SMG's, Rifles, Snipers and LMG. I have also made most of the weapons compatible with vanilla Arma 3 ammo, with a few unique ammo exceptions. I should note that this mod comes with several prop items like Cereal, Morphine Syringe, Plates etc... these items are not consumable.     Does anyone know how to unpack a binarized mission file for Arma? I would like to update my Day of the Dead escape mission that I made in 2016. I lost the source files. I can still download my mission through my workshop page, but I can't edit it. I would like to update it with all the new cool Ravage stuff.

    Hi Ben. Would you consider updating the Tembelan map with the new Livonia lighting system? All Arma 3 gamers got free assets for Livonia in 2019, including all the DayZ standalone buildings, trees, more realistic looking water, etc. I would love to see the lighting update though.

    Most likely has something to do with the dead bodies reviving to a zombie. My best guess. Turn that feature off and see if you still have the problems with bodies spawning.

    I'm working on a new Ravage sandbox on the NEW ESSEKER map that has released on workshop. The map has been updated with all new Livonia assets and does not require CUP Terrains.     I saw it and messed around with it. Was having trouble getting AI to properly spawn on the map. I'm not sure the guy who made the map set the AI pathing. Zombies seem to spawn fine. The map looks great and the whole idea is good. It just runs awfully for me. Vehicles also struggle on the map. However, I personally think it would work awesome for a death match PVP scenario with zombies in the background if the map was cleaned up a little bit. It's pretty tough to deal with in current form for me. It's just small enough for good close quarter combat though and you can't get enough of that stuff in Arma these days.

    I gotta step in here. I like VD Apocalypse and all, but I certainly do not want all of this stuff in Ravage. It's great as optional.
  17. Tonight after the Arma update, steam re-downloaded every mod that I was subscribed to. After the re-download, all mods are showing as corrupt in my Arma launcher now.

    I thought the issue was just related to New Haven. I guess I'm not alone. On New Haven, a very small percentage of lights are working. Maybe 1 out of 10. I made several tweaks but it didn't change.

    So there were no changes made to lights then? I checked my settings again and I have the module set to 0. I haven't tested this in like two months and the last time I did, lights worked everywhere at night.

    That's the first thing I did last night. I checked my settings and it was set to 0. Maybe something else is going on with my mission. I'll take another look.

    Did all the lights get turned back off on Ravage again? I'm not sure if that was changed with this update or perhaps an older one. I haven't played much Arma in the last two months. I played for about 90 minutes tonight. Found at least 20 pairs of Binoculars. I also had a stretch of military barracks where the loot flickered for me after searching. Once that started happening, I had to leave that area and go into a new area on another part of the map to get it to work properly again. @EO... I like the style of using the solo Renegades, but I've noticed that this seems to kill the AI from driving around in vehicles, which for me adds a lot to Ravage. Unless I'm not setting something correctly?

    Even kodabar makes it clear in his latest youtube video that the music he's using is nowhere near as cool as the Ravage music is, that it's substitute, etc. Unfortunately we disagree on this. I play video games almost every day. I have 266 games on steam. I've never been copyright stricken for playing and streaming any of those games with the music they play in the background. For some reason, I'm getting flagged for that one Dark Hollow song on youtube. I actually enjoy the Ravage soundtrack quite a bit. I'm unable to enjoy it while streaming now because of this one song. If it's just one song, I'm not sure how much of an interruption it would be to the experience to change or remove it. However... I understand if Haleks does not want to omit the track. I personally think the soundtrack gives the entire experience personality. It doesn't feel the same streaming it without the music. I can play any kind of music in the background if I want to, on my PC. I do not need a script to do such a thing on stream, etc.

    Will you please consider removing "Dark Hollow" from the music playlist? That song flags a copyright claim on every youtube video or stream that I do when that songs plays in the background. I have been removing the music lately whenever I do play anyway. I've also noticed a few other people have done the same. I'm not even sure which song that is in the playlist.

    I would like a system where every building has a chance to spawn objects, but depending on the building size, there may be more or less objects with a potential random system that does not always spawn objects in every building. This may be best for performance since all the buildings are enterable in the new DLC's. Some of the buildings are massive with a lot of rooms. There is a new military barracks building in the GM DLC that has like five floors and tons of rooms. I can really envision a building like that being awesome for military loot. While I enjoy the furniture spawns... I noticed a clear FPS hit when that feature entered Ravage. I wonder if a system would work better for performance if the loot stayed inside the container instead of dropping to the ground and then the container despawned after time?
