  1. Splendid update Night! :D I like the concept of the riot police officer, Could be a very handy asset in the Akhanteros coup.

One suggestion for them would be some sort of a balaclava which covers the mouth :) I think most riot officers got a balaclava hiding their face for some weird reason (Makes them look badass though)

That grenade launcher thing is going to make urban combat a tad bit interesting...

  2. @lexx Well how I dealt with campaign difficulty is pretty much putting myself in the enemies shoes. How would they react?

Let's say your an FIA grunt assaulting a military installation, Obviously it would be pretty guarded with a bunch of infantry units on guard but at the same time guerillas never walk in alone and are always with others. So if two or three infantry squads are attacking the outpost the AAF would not deploy a tank and a Mora accompanied by a bunch of artillery added with close air support :P they would send in a QRR and a strider to reclaim the position.

There may be other players who simply doesn't care about the poor protagonist and go in guns blazing with AT and a LMG. Usually they would die.

Your campaign wasn't impossible at all! they may just be playing it the easy way (guns blazing) I remember sneaking in and hopping on a tank with no fuel and disabling that dreaded APC.

Obviously fighting CSAT and NATO would be considerably more difficult as they are a professional army and the AAF can be as weak as the next guy. FIA has little to no armour and are just some guerillas so they aren't as trained as they are supposed to be. So their skill level wouldn't be that high.

    Essentially:

FIA = Relatively easy to kill, Usually one shot.

AAF = In between, Sort of easy to kill taking a bit more shots.

NATO = Harder to kill (AAF begs to differ goddamn it task force aegis!) and are equipped with great weapons.

CSAT = Superior headgear and uniforms + carrier allows for them to be a formiddable force. Katiba is more accurate than MX and thus are harder to kill.

So in short, The difficulty usually corresponds to the mission. A simple hit on a outpost wouldn't yield much attention. A hit on a airport would yield all the attention there are (make sure not to make it too hard, assaulting an airport should not be without a bunch of infantry squads and some mechanised off roads, ifrits and striders)

Those one shot AI happens sometimes... I think there is no way to combat this :(

Just something I thought I would share on how I do my campaigns! :D hope this helps you a bit!

It's problem from my point of view is that it is primarily a multiplayer game and should make that clear to any potential buyer. DLC is all well and good but if you are only an offline player then you get short changed with the game because so much of basic AI is rubbish.

I agree with the fact we don't have much of a single player content, I mean taking a look at Steam workshop pretty much 90% are all CO-OP or multiplayer, Apex protocol was pretty much a CO-OP campaign. But thankfully laws of war has a campaign so I guess its even :P AI is sometimes rubbish but there are also times where its quite smart.

I remember when I was scouting in east wind I took shelter in a building after I spot a small patrol team. They lobbed grenades at the building and killed me. Quite rare for that to happen. I personally came into arma 3 for altis life, Few days I popped up the campaign and discovered what Arma truly was. Now I have 1855 hours and counting all in singleplayer missions and editors.

Finally, Arma is truly a title where you only get as much out as you put put in. Effort seems to equal fun.

Cant stress this enough! It is literally the only game where if your talented enough, Can create virtually anything. Arma would never die.

I reckon once I hit graduation in a few long years and go to college Arma would be thriving more than ever :D

  4. I wouldn't really say it's dieing to be honest, The community is still pushing out great mods and scenarios and the forums are pretty active in terms of Arma 3 itself (discussions quite prominent)

To say that Bohemia doesn't care about there game is totally wrong, And laws of war is made for "amazon" lads? That dlc is made to appeal to the humanitarian aspect. Bohemia is constantly working around the clock to fix bugs.

Welcome to the forums by the way!

Arma 3's storyline was good-I played the campaign 2 or 3 times. I felt it was a little unrealistic to have a large guerrilla group living in the woods on a small island..The point of guerrillas is they blend with the populace-in the towns and villages. But on altis the populace is comprised of 30 year old men in shorts living in houses with no furniture..so I suppose that was not possible :D

I agree with ya I always though that a UAV would pop out of nowhere and swiftly bomb the guerillas to oblivion and then mission statement :P Adapt was splendid and I kinda expected to be undercover but I guess Kerrys American face in flip flops won't cut it.. The scouting missions though was part of the reason I thought it was a masterpiece :D like I once scouted for some ammo late at night then I discovered a black market (at least the laws of war has furniture!)

@Cydoemus  Nice to see some pics that fit with Arma 3's canon storyline :) You said it is part of a private campaign-is it going to stay private? Looks like fun.

Thanks! :D The storyline of Arma 3 is hard to understand at first but once you get to know it, It's a masterpiece!

The campaign is probably gonna be released in a few long months (5?) cause i use custom assets and retextures, Hopefully once I finish all the goodies and eye candies (I heard Russia is quite mad at Iran in August 20) the mission development will start :)

  7. Definitly would like to see women in the future game as it would add greatly to the immersion on the inhabitants of Altis. Combat or not its fine by me :D although expecting them to arrive in Arma 3? Nope. Definitely as it would take too much time. There is ZeeAlex with her female mod so you can use it as an alternative.

But one thing is the children, Big no from me as if the children get shot then definitely the damn media would go over the whole game and lash out to the developers which wouldn't be really splendid... Especially if they are used as combatants since people can make mods and definitely there would be that one guy who does that. Il abstain from voting.

keep in mind the developers had no time nor resources to make females and I swear I remember seeing an old image which had a female swimming in an ocean in Arma 3 which was probably in early stages... They aren't sexist and most definitely the developers are the greatest so accusing them of attempting to convey a 'message' is not very nice.

P.S: Man or Woman or children suffers equally in war. None of them suffers less or more.

In in terms of the laws of war? If there was females I wouldn't really care and lower my fire same case with a man. Sure I would attempt to not hit them but I'm not going to suddenly stop then get blasted in the head by a rifleman :P

Oh and there is already multiple threads literally pertaining to the same topic, might wanna search before creating another one :) I think I got carried away sorry for the long post!

EDIT: I should mention that you would probably look at the civilian for 2 seconds then completely forget she exists and proceed with your tasks given.

Thanks! It was one of my biggest fears to have weird or critical bugs in the release. Glad to hear everything worked out well.

I had planned to make some better (higher resolution) textures for the bikes, but couldn't find the motivation for that yet and in the end didn't gave it a super high priority. I'll might work on it again in the future.

No problem :D the bikes actually looked quite decent even without a high res texture :P Was certainly a great armour campaign you created Lexx!

  9. Just finished the campaign, A real blast to play through! Voice acting top notch sounding almost like Vanilla and that mountain bike somehow made me speechless :P

Didn't encountered a single bug at all and played relatively smoothly without any crashes or errors! I like the use of the ORBAT's and custom assets. Phenomenal one mate :D

  10. This honestly is my favourite mod of all time! The effort to expand the 2035 aspect in which it almost seems like vanilla is just phenomenal!

The shotguns, the SCAR (which reloading animations so smooth just like vanilla) and everything else is just ported/retexture extremely well :D

Keep up the outstanding work Night!
