Would it be possible to make other 6.5 mm weapons' magazines compatible with the Promet and vice-versa? It makes logistics kind of complicated and inconvenient, especially given how the MX can use Katiba magazines.

I agree, it's very powerful, but that's kind of how it should be. I hope they don't nerf it into a state of uselessness (seriously, BIS, please don't, for the love of god. I love it and I think it's like Baby Bear's porridge in terms of being "just right"). It's handicapped by range, of course (slugs being the possible exception once they actually start functioning properly), but in close quarters it's just as powerful as it should be. Though honestly, as far as the range thing, I'm guessing people are too used to shotguns in Halo and Gears of Duty, where the pellets magically vanish after travelling about 10 feet. Remember the shotguns in Arma 2, particularly the AA-12? Those had realistic ranges with buckshot pellets.

I was talking about this earlier, but thank you for taking the initiative to post a .GIF showing the issue. Granted, I never use slugs because in close quarters, the buckshot ammo is absolutely brutal, but the slug ammo has its uses. At least, it would if it wasn't zeroed to the rifle's scope. After having spent excess of five hours playing a CTI campaign and making liberal use of the Promet SG version in close quarters urban fighting, I can say that the buckshot ammo works just fine at its intended range.

Agreed. It's kind of weird that you can't do that considering that it's not built into the gun, and it's Picatinny-rail-compatible. Also, is there any way to thin down the front knob of the backup iron sight on the top of the carry handle? It's kind of thick and difficult to precisely target enemies with (I'm not even talking about medium-long ranges, I mean even in CQC it's kind of a hassle), so either thinning the front sight or adding a version that has a reflex sight (like the RCO, ARCO and ERCO) on top would be desirable.

None that would be affecting ballistics. I have mods on but none of them make any adjustments to gun ballistics or add elements like wind or something.

How did you get that with a short barrel? Mod? Also, as dope as it would be, I don't think a round counter would really make a difference as far as gameplay goes on account of how there's already a round counter in-game in the HUD.

The Promet GL shouldn't be able to use three-round grenades anyways, only the MX 3GL can do that (its GL is based on a grenade launcher that can hold three electronically-primed grenades, whereas the Promet's GL is based on a conventional single-shot grenade launcher that couldn't possibly fit three grenades).

I almost did a backflip when I got on and found out that the guns had come out. Great stuff! That said, there is one issue that I noticed. My first instinct was to check out the Promet SG, and although the buckshot ammo works fine and dandy, there is something seriously wrong with the slug rounds. For me at least, the zeroing is messed up whenever I'm using a dual optic (with 200 meters on the reflex sight and 300 in the magnified scope). On both, the slug round essentially has a top-down attack like a guided launcher, except it's wildly inaccurate and it doesn't even seem to reach the distance that the selected scope is zeroed to. Only when using iron sights or a very low-distance optic or reflex sight does it become more viable to use, and even then it's not particularly accurate.

Good stuff (on fixing the issues), and thanks for the answer. I'll admit, it's sort of disappointing about the weapon release being kicked down the road, but I can deal. 🙂 Are all of the guns going to be released all at once or will there be waves, like this week will have the Promet rifles, the next will have the AKs, and so on? And lastly, do you happen to have any sort of road map for Dev Branch Contact content updates? I'm just curious to know the flowchart of what comes next after weapons and so on.

Thanks for the answer. What's a blocking issue? And also, when you say "push over the weekend", do you mean it'll come out during the weekend or come out next week?

Forgive me for not understanding if this has been stated (at which point I must've misinterpreted it) or not, but as of today (June 6th), when can the preorder backers in Dev Branch start seeing some new gameplay content like guns and uniforms, or units for the mission makers?

Much appreciated, man. Feels good to actually have hope and stuff to look forward to. Here's hoping we get something this week. Promet rifles (fingers crossed); new units; the Spartan helmets Livonian troops wear; anything. I'm pumped for this.

Awesome! Where'd you hear this (I don't keep too up-to-date w/ BIS's developments barring Steam announcements and occasional word-of-mouth posts), if you don't mind my asking? Did they say what stuff could be added?

Hey, I don't know if this is the proper thread for asking about Dev Branch Contact updates (and if it isn't, I apologize; would somebody be able to link me to a thread that's appropriate if that's the case?), but when can we expect to start seeing things such as new weapons (high emphasis on the weapons; in addition to loving weapons in general it's also somewhat easier to test them out and see how they perform in combat), new uniforms, gear, units, vehicles, etc.? In Arma 3's Discord I saw one answer saying starting Monday the 3rd (of June), and one saying mid-June. Are either of those correct, and if so, which one?
