In an attempt to upload mission files (which I believe was a success), I accidentally deleted the mpmissions folder for some reason, but I reuploaded the files. I was automatically directed to the Takistan mission when I launched the server, and upon attempting to run the Summer Chernarus map, it simply redirected me to the Takistan mission; I believe that I experienced this issue before, but you resolved it by uploading the map (Summer Chernarus) to the server.

Linking Virtual Spectator to Data Terminal

I would like to know how to link the virtual spectator module to a data terminal object so that people can respawn yet still be able to use the spectator functionality if they choose to do so. I know that it's possible because I was previously a member in another unit, and they did what I described in the last sentence; I would communicate with them, but there are complications to doing so that I would rather not specify the nature of. If you know something about scripting, then even if it may not be functional, I would still appreciate a comment that will at least guide me in the right direction so to speak.-

Sorry for the very late response. I've been rather busy with my arma unit as of late. I completed your instruction, but when I continued that of the original instruction ( https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Arma_3_Dedicated_Server#Instructions_.28Windows_o.2Fs.29 ) I was again stuck on the step #6/7 even when I passed step #6, what step #7 stated didn't happen. You said that after that: "it's just dl the server sw, configure & opening ports and optimizing"; should I download the server sw (I don't know what that means) next, and if so I would like for you to provide instruction upon how to do so, or should I continue with the original instructions, which, like I said, I got stuck on. I would like a response soon if you can provide one soon, but if not it's no problem. -

Failures: Installing Compatibility Manager and attempting to locate the file, running the ArmA3_Steam_updater.cmd instead of the #Arma3server_steamcmd_example.cmd file, & attempting to open the Local Security Policy configuration. Issue: when I attempt to run the the #Arma3server_steamcmd_example.cmd file located @ E:\Games\ArmA3\A3Files as stated in Step 6, I receive the "This App Can't Run on Your PC - To Find a Version for your PC, check with the software publisher" error. Additional Note: I would like this issue to be resolved in the next few hours as I have an operation for my unit, of which I am the leader of, @ 8 PM EST. I would like a dedicated server to be established before then so as to minimize the probability of critical errors caused by hosting temporary servers from one's own computer. -

I would like to know how to script the functionality of sitting up from a chair when there's a target object (namely an enemy) for the initialization script in particular or otherwise if need be. Please state the specific steps required to complete these actions, because I'm new to scripting, and as much as I would like to learn how to do it, I simply don't have that much time to dedicate. -

I have Arma installed on my E: drive, but my default drive is my C: drive. I cannot install Arma on my C: drive because of space limitation. Can I install it into my E:(\games\steam) drive? The drive that you are referring to is the drive that also includes the A3Files & A3Master folders, correct? I also have a file that's named the same (steamcmd.exe) in my E:\Apps\Steam folder, yet it has a different image/thumbnail. Because of these potential conflicts, will I need to remove all of my previous progress from the other instruction linked in the description, or are there no conflicts and I can proceed with what I already have installed in accordance with the other instruction, yet follow the instruction that you typed and linked instead? -

I think I'll just avoid scripting as a unit leader considering that you need to dedicate so much time into developing your knowledge of scripting, which for a few functions simply isn't worth doing. Thank you for your effort, but all I came to realize is that it's complicated and gets me nowhere with just following the instruction. I just think that it's odd that I didn't receive any constructive comments for 8 days, but then when I ask why then I receive 3 consecutive comments in quick succession on the same day.. Why didn't you just say that you gave up? I would have understood that, but I just dislike it when people don't respond with the simplest comment and I assume that at least one of you saw my comment over the course of more than a week; therefore, you would have intentionally not responded because you saw the comment. I also didn't say I was angry at any of you, only disappointed because the result wasn't achieved. If you asked why I made this comment almost a month afterwards, my response would be it doesn't really matter because the actual purpose of the thread died when I asked that "bold" question. -

Hello. I'm the leader of a milsim unit titled the 137th Guards Kubanskiy Kazachiy Order of the Red Star Parachute Regiment, and I have a request. The 137th, in 2014, participated in the battle of Ilovaisk ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Ilovaisk ); I would like for this town and the country-side around it to be emulated in Arma 3 terrain. I researched how to develop maps and it seemed like a full time commitment, and I have many commitments including doing essentially everything for my unit, so attempting to create this map is somewhat out of my range, unfortunately. The benefit would be mutual, I would create and awesome mission that I may publish on the Steam Workshop with a link to the map and of course the credit of whoever developed the map, and the developer of the map could publish it on Steam and/or Armaholic for many people (namely those interested in the Ukrainian intervention) to enjoy. I presume that you've intentionally stopped responding to my messages? If so, then I'm not angry, but rather disappointed. I thought that we were soon to achieve what I wanted in my mission. If it's true, then an explanation at the very least must be given to some extent. -

I used the second script, and the result was partially successful because the scripted unit engaged the contact that I spawned, but he was sitting in the ground with half of his body submerged beneath the surface instead of being sat on the chair. Is there any way that the unit could be kept sat in the chair, but he will still engage if there is an enemy contact? -

I did that, and the script successfully spawned the additional rails, but it spawned too many targets. I believe that the script spawned approximately ten (give or take five). Also, I changed the Segment amount to 7 (meters, according to the instructions) and it instead spawned a long line of rails. -

why.. tf... did i get redirected to the board in the middle of me typing a message?? Anyways, I did that, therefore not receiving the error, but the rail didn't generate a target, and there were no call signs available in the radio section of the command menu. -

What do you mean "the init field of the first unit" and the "init field of the second one"? I honestly don't understand that. I'm programming this for one unit, so that if an enemy unit reaches it's vicinity then it will stand up and engage. -

It's functional in MP. Thank you for the scripts! It's actually functional in the particular Altis mission, but when I copy the target (including initialization script) and rail, I receive this error (and contradiction). Why is this and how do I resolve the issue? -

I understand, but I have the script for both functions, but yet the person who's sitting on the chair doesn't react to enemies in his vicinity. [this,"SIT1", "ASIS", arrow1] call BIS_fnc_ambientAnim; [_unit,"STAND","FULL",{(player distance _this) < 5}] call BIS_fnc_ambientAnimCombat; {behaviour _this isEqualTo "COMBAT"} I presume that some changes need to be made to the script that I pasted. The top line of script was copied from the video about sitting on a chair. -

I removed the top line of script which is: _tank = "rhs_bmd2" createVehicle [4863.116,9891.143,150]; I changed this: _tank setPos [4863.116,9891.143,150]; To this: _tank setPosATL; The tank spawned 150 meters in the air and plummeted to the ground without any damage, although there weren't any parachutes. I suspect that the cause of this failure may be that there isn't any reference saved in my registry of animations/functions/calls for this: _tank call KK_fnc_paraDrop; Do I need to download and install the KK (Kill-zone-Kids) functions file if there is one? -

I added (to the initialization script): {behaviour _this isEqualTo "COMBAT"} The person sitting in the chair didn't do anything when the enemy contact was spawned within 5 meters of him. -

I attempted doing this. Added: _tank = "rhs_bmd2" createVehicle [4863.116,9891.143,150]; _tank setDir random 360; _tank setPos [4863.116,9891.143,150]; _tank call KK_fnc_paraDrop; It spawned a vehicle on the ground instead of 150 meters above the ground with parachutes attached. Is this because I needed to spawn the tank that was specified in the post (perhaps that's why they specify "tank" and not "LAV/APC/IFV"? -

I added a script ( [_unit,"STAND","FULL",{(player distance _this) < 5}] call BIS_fnc_ambientAnimCombat; ) to the soldier's initialization sitting in the chair who I wanted to be able to stand if he was to become aware of an enemy contact, but he did nothing when I spawned the contact in. Must I replace _unit with a reference to him, namely his initialization name, and/or do I need to replace the _this with the distance of how far away the contact is in meters? -

I created the .sqf files in the mpmissions folder (4 of them including the init.sqf). What script do I paste into the initialization script for the rail and/or the moving target to enable the target to move upon the rail? -

Thank you for the instructions, but is there any instructions for this in English? I translated it from German to English, but the grammar can be quite difficult to understand, although possible.
