  3. 47 Commando Royal Marines Milsim/Realism Unit Who are we? The 47 Commando is a Royal Marine Milsim/Realism unit for ArmA 3, which is based on Royal Marine commando’s as seen today (The 47 commando in real life was a Royal Marine commando disbanded after World War 2, but we decided to bring it as a Arma 3 unit, based on the principles of training like 6 section battle drills and FIBUA and combat as seen in the modern 40, 42 commando’s etc). The 47 Commando strive for a realistic/milsim environment, without all the unnecessary realism that many find a burden e.g. “Yes sir†“No sirâ€. The 47 Commando has a Phase 1 and Phase 2 training, our training is based directly on the Royal Marines, only to be vastly scaled down and our training instructors have filtered it to be necessary to ArmA 3. We also have a PNCO cadre, for those willing to become NCO's in our unit, which is required to become a IC and a 2nd IC in a section. We have ownership of a forums, and a Teamspeak server and an ArmA 3 dedicated server, as well as being firmly organised. We are currently on a recruitment drive and are looking for members to expand the 47 commando and aiming to open another section as well as a FSG (Fire support group). We use many mods to improve our realism, this spans from 3rd Commando BAF (Royal Marines vehicles, clothing and weapons etc) as well as the ACE mod, which overal improves the realism of ArmA 3. What do we do? All our recruits who join our unit, are welcomed to our Phase 1 and Phase 2 training taught by our CTC instructors, and this training spans from FIBUA to 6 Section battle drills, to train our recruits to be ready for our operations as well as exercises in home rotations. We also have a PNCO cadre, for those willing to become NCO's in our unit, which is required to become a IC and a 2nd IC in a section. In term of dates, our training's and operations occur on a weekly basis through the week during the evenings, and these dates are never on deployment operation or home rotation exercise dates ,our deployment operations or if on home rotation, exercises, are on a Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 GMT to 10:30 GMT, we believe having two dates for these increases the chance of availability for our members .In terms of operations and home rotations, once recruits have finished Phase 1 and Phase 2 training's, they can earn their ‘Marine’ rank, and can attend our deployment operations which are set on different maps, and have a solid backstory for role-play, and when deployments are not occurring, we have our home rotations, where we have exercises and manoeuvres for the whole troop. We currently have a Zeus operator too, to create a high quality realism of our missions in our operations. Why join us? Our unit has potential to grow rapidly and high potential for success as well as to create a friendly and diverse community. We believe if you enjoy a realistic milsim environment, without the unnecessary bits (“Yes sirâ€) and have an organised rank structure and command, as well as a thorough training and a PNCO cadre course for potential NCO’s and enjoy a British, modern Royal Marines themed unit, we believe this is the unit for you. Dates of Training's and Operations/ Home Rotations -Operations and home rotations occur from 7:30 to 10:30 GMT on a Friday and Saturday -Trainings vary from Sunday to Friday once a week, in the evenings. Requirements -You must be at least 16 years of age to join due to mature reasons however we have a probational period for members under this age. - A functioning microphone (If you are in the process of obtaining one, we are happy to accept members) - Speak the English language to at least a basic level Enlist today: www.47commando.co.uk Our Teamspeak and Website: Our Teamspeak: 47commando.teamspeak3.com:9091 Our Website: www.47commando.co.uk Our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtBUtlDMSwhBbCHsDSoRW3A The Joining Process Firstly, once submitting your application under “Enlist now†on our forums website, your application will be analysed, and when it is accepted, you will be invited to a short spoken interview on our teamspeak, and once we have successfully completed the spoken interview, you will be accepted to our unit, and will be entitled to our Phase 1 and Phase 2 training’s. [WIP] Rhodesia Bush War

This looks great! I really do appreciate your work, and the best of luck. I am currently about to set up the Rhodesian Light Infantry 1st Commando /Fireforce mil-sim unit, a unit that existed at the time of the bush war, the Rhodesian Light Infantry became one of the country's main counter-insurgency units during the Rhodesian Bush War, which pitted the government security forces against the rival guerrilla campaigns of the Zimbabwe African National Liberation Army (ZANLA) and Zimbabwe People's Revolutionary Army (ZIPRA). It would be great if we could achieve a exclusive early access to your mod. In the latter however, we will be using other mods till yours is available e.g Armscor, RHS, N'ziwasogo. I am still setting up the forums, the launch will roughly be around a week. Note: Since the Selous Scouts and the RLI shared similiar tactics, Peter Baxter's book will be useful for training examples and tactics. Thanks for that Flatbear, very useful.

  9. The Republic Of Elektrozavodsk Life Multiplayer RPG Hi all, I currently have a new mutliplayer RPG gamemode I have been working on, and I would like to share it with you all and it would be great to get some help!. I'll firstly explain it to you in a nutshell. How it works is, the town of Elektrozavodsk in Chernarus is a small republic/city state, and is governed by a voted prime minister. The prime minister has partial control of the police and military forces within the republic, and the police force enforces the people and the military keep a careful eye on rebel uprising and the national militia. The national militia is a paramilitary force, who can side with itself or the government, and it can act as a back up police force or a threat to the Prime Minister. The civilians, can choose to become a criminal, take a job and earn money, and can join any of the these agencies just like any other RPG gamemode. Your may be thinking here, 'here we go again, another RPG going to fail, just like all the others'. However, this gamemode is unique to other RPG's as Elektro isnt massive, and its easy to make a living and also easier for the police to patrol. The map isnt locked to Elektro, there are borders to cross using visas and passports to sell your petrol in Chernogorsk, enter illegally for a drug run or take Elektro Airlines (Elektro doesnt have a runway as we know, so we use helicopters!) on a holiday on the beaches of Berenzino. The RPG is a serious but friendly and fun roleplay mode. The RPG uses Chernarus as a map and RHS escalation for the weapons and some vehicles. Sorry if it wasnt very breif for you but I will go into more detail about the gamemode. I have halfway made the gamemode, but I still need help with the money and taskbars like other RPG's have. People may think this is a copy of Chernarus life, but isnt, as for starters the police sometimes struggle to cover the map! Now, I will go into detail on each role in the game: Prime Minister The Prime Minister is voted in every 4 real life days, and is voted ingame at the polling station. His job is to keep his civilians happy and his aim is to keep them doing wealthy legal runs e.g Petrol, and keeping away from criminal or rebel activity using the police and military force, while keeping a careful eye on the militia, whom can overthrow him. The Prime Minister can be replaced by the military using Martial Law, and can be declared only when the Prime Minister has served a day in office, and renders the Prime Minister powerless. The military takes control until the next voting day. The Police can back the prime minister on such events, but again can still overthrow him on command of the Superintendent. These forces can either back the Prime Minister if they think he is doing a good job, not because he likes having sausages and mash at dinner time. The militia however, can back the Prime Minister, but the militia are not refrained from doing drug runs and rebel activity, and this goes against the Prime Ministers law. The Prime Minister can create laws not too absurd, and can change wages and prices of jobs and shops, but this is at his own risk however. The Prime Minister usually has 4 bodyguards and they are chosen by himself and always loyal to him, and they will usually chauffeur him around. The Prime Minister cannot leave Elektro, but can take exile in Chernogorsk if he is overthrown. When the Prime Minister first takes office, he will then have to say a short speech to his people on getting power on the balcony of the town center. The Prime Minister is given a relatively good wage, but at the same time is a risky job. The Police Force The Police Force is lead by the Superintendent who's job is to control and enforce the people of Elektrozavodsk. They wield RHS weaponry like Shotguns and drive a custom skin SUV. There job is to enforce the laws of the Prime Minister, and the Police tend to overthrow the PM only if hes being a massive nuisance e.g Envolved in Criminal activity. They crackdown on drug trade and criminal activity, and man checkpoints along the border. Unlike other RPGs they wield guns not tazers, however they shouldnt abuse this privilege, and should use a strict gun behavior. The police can handcuff and arrest people, and for bigger cases e.g Murder or robbery, this requires a prison sentence and the Police have to organise a court session including a jury, prosecutors, witnesses and a judge. Lawyers may accompany the defendant, and if the defendant loses the case, they are so forth sent to Prison. The Police in the republic of Elektro should use a very serious RP attitude and should be friendly and helpful. Joining the Police force gives you a better wage, but you need to put an application in to do so like alot of RPG's. The Military The Military are the defence of Elektrozavodsk. They crack down on drug runs and defend the border and man checkpoints. Along with the Police, they have to follow the Prime Ministers laws and help enforce them. The Military use RHS weaponary and vehicles, and usually the opposition to the National militia. If there was going to be a civil war, it would be the Military vs The Militia. The Military cannot intervene with the militia, but the military are better equipped and well trained compared to the militia. The National Militia Civilians can join the National Militia anytime, as long as they have no criminal record of any sort. The Militia tend to not be linked in criminal activities, and militia members dont get payed. Someone could be doing a job e.g Petrol trading and still belong to the militia, and when called to fight against e.g Police for a valid reason, they will follow that order. The militia can be a threat to the Prime Minister, but again the Prime Minister can make a friendly bond with them. The Prime Minister can make them a back up Police force, help enforcing and fighting crime but again thats the Head of the Militias decision. The Civilians Civilians have to follow the laws of the Prime Minister, and have to make a living. They can start off farming or selling peaches to mining Iron and bringing it to the Elektrozavodsk factory to create steel. Usually the mines are across the border in Chernarus, so they need a work visa and a passport, and then sell the items in Elektrozavodsk. Also, civilians can start criminal lives by robbery or drug runs. The drug fields are in Chernarus so they have to illegally enter Chernarus and back into Elektro to avoid being stopped at the border and checked. Civilians have a taskbar like any other RPG, a cell phone and may buy many things from Gun Stores to Restraunts to Car shops. Civilians also can join the militia, Police or the Military. Civilians are the backbone of the republic, and may take many routes in their RP lives to make themselves wealthy or even dangerous. Thank you for reading this overview, and need some help with scripting money and creating the taskbars. I have made the shops and alot of the maps features, and will post more on some pictures of the skins the police, military and the militia with use. I am in the process of making an official website I thank you for reading this overview! 10. Hi, Im a bit of a beginner, I put your code in for the scud launcher in the init and says its wrong. How can I do this?
  11. Thats no problem, I can still try and master the skins I have done before. It would be good to get some pictures of UK special forces uniforms, since I have made some but need editing more. They are UKSOT United Kingdom Special Operations Teams. They are the naval version of the SAS. The UKSOT uniforms should resemble some SAS and Royal Marine uniforms, a mix would be good. Also, it would be great if we both start planning more missions. I have only the quarter of the plot finished. Regards Dave
  12. Thank you Deny, much appreciated for the help. I need some textures for the custom made nations like UKSOT and CHDKZ. I have both made the loadouts for them, but maybe unit insignias or vehicle textures. I have tried making the textures for the vehicles from templates but with no success. For playing Arma 3 for a year and a bit now, I will be really glad if we can start making some textures. Regards Dave
  13. Im already currently working on the campaign and currently creating the 3rd mission. The UFF idea is good, but I think Russia needs to directly be involved. Also just having Atlis as the map wont be popular, since RHS blends well with the Chernarus landscape and also the camoflage. This is my plot: You play as an Russian Corporal Mikhail Boshovski, and are lead by an lieutenant who is killed on the first mission. You are sent to Chernarus after NAPA insurgents (Insurgents independent and also linked from the arma 2 campaign) raid supply lines and situate there base of operations near the town of Olsha. After the Lieutenant is killed, you take command (Mikhail is the same character as the main player), and fight your way to take out insurgent artillery and FOB. The next mission is the crucial part of the campaign. The CHDKZ (Chernarussian movement of the red star) forces who are allied with Russia take over peacekeeping operations in northern Chernarus. Mikhail and his squad of Sergei (Marksman armed with a SVD), Boris (AK-74M) and Alexsei (AK-74 and RPG-7) investigate an civilian needing help, Once reaching the civilian, CHDKZ soldiers (In arma 2 they have a reputation for brutality against the Chernarussians) are about to put a bullet into a civilians head just for being a chernarussian. Your character tries to deal with the situation by saying to the soldiers to stop, but dont listen. You think that the CHDKZ is carrying out Ethnic Cleansing, and open fire on them. This causes your players switch to blufor. The CHDKZ turn on you. You have to escape Chernarus until you get a radio call from Captain Williams of the UK Special Operations Team. He is situated in a nuclear submarine off the coast of Chernarus. He explains the Russians are too friendly with the CHDKZ to believe and help your squad. He says that if you turn up to the Russians, they may kill you for friendly fire or misconduct. He explains that you can be picked up and extracted back to the submarine, and your lives saved. Mikhail have to clear out an AA fort before being picked up. Just before I carry on, the CHDKZ soldiers, UKSOT operators and Mikhails squad were all made on the virtual arsenal so every soldier from them are not a class on the editor. After being picked up by heli after consistent counterattacks on your squad by the CHDKZ, you arrive at HMS Kingfish, a British royal navy nuclear submarine. You are then recruited into the UKSOT and the submarine is sent to Atlis to resupply the sub of ammo and food. The AAF are part of NATO and your character comes to Pygros where you collect some ammo, then for no apparent reason the AAF turn on you and have to make a get away out of Pygros. You then have to meet off the coast to be once again extracted to HMS Kingfish. This is the plot I am up to, and think Im going to keep this plot since it involves alot of maps and you play as both Russia and NATO/US. The UKSOT are customized and use RHS weaponary and clothing. Sorry this plot is long, but the longer the better. Tom your english is fine you don't need to apologise :) Dave
  14. I am currently making an RHS Campaign, I just finished the second mission, and I thought I could share the plot. I try and involve all weapons and nations RHS has to offer in the campaign. Ive also made the campaign include maps from the All Arma terrain pack. I would love this campaign to be turned into a community project with everyone willing to be involved equally creating missions. I feel having the vanilla maps of Atlis and Stratis isnt enough for RHS, since both sides fit better in a Chernarus style enviroment. Here are the maps which I am going to use in the Campaign(These are not all of them): Chernarus Atlis Utes Bornholm I am currently still working on the plot. Please post your ideas!
