I was down in southern Czech Republic over the weekend for a wedding, and I met a bunch of Czechs down there who were on a hilltop lamenting exactly this. I knew he had cancer but that was when I heard he had died. I always enjoy his reviews and am sorry this has happened to him, and of of course his family & friends.

Although, he himself would have corrected you there -"They are not reviews. I don't do reviews. They are first impressions" :f:

  2. Today John Bain AKA TotalBiscuit died after a long struggle with cancer.

As this section is for other gaming topics, and he was such a large part of the gaming world, I feel it is appropriate for him to be remembered by our community for his years of reviews and first impressions videos.

Here he is with BI checking our Arma 3's early build  in 2011

Nothing can quite beat a bottle of fuckfast... Us northern irish have a soft spot for the stuff :P

Wow..there's bloody loads of us here ;) I'm south of the border from you though.

@Thumperdevine  I find that part of making pics very fun-scouting out the exact right place and tailoring loadouts to be just right. Never used ai to chauffeur me about though :D  Also, @POLPOX I think all of us who enjoy Arma photography owe you a massive thanks for making animations so, so easy now!

it's Chernarus ineptaphid, it took ages to find the right location with the terrain running the right way. Here's a picture of the area.

there's nothing better than a cold bottle(s) of thebuckfastwine on a summers day even though the wife says I'm too old to drink it lol.:wine::wine:

Ha! It is Chernarus...I didnt recognise it with the buildings placed..Nice lighting effect as well.

Agreed about the buckfast..It is great as a teenager to slug a couple of bottles. It does seem a little more...unseemly..to do the same in your 30's lol.

Please add compatibility with fatigue from ACE.

Your fatigue and ACE are superimposed on each other and work incorrectly.

Or maybe I'm doing something wrong?) And this should work?

Just disable one of them. Then there is no issue. Both mods have a way to disable stamina settings. Don;t run both at once. It's like running 2 ai mods together-you will get problems

Anyone know of any large terrains that uses A3 assets instead of older assets like CUP

Not so many that use A3 assets, but for a big terrain with no A2 assets, try XCam Taunus. It's stunning/ But a beast on framerates.

Scargard is a 10kmx10 Swedish island using all Arma 3 buildings

Arctic highlands, G.O.S Gunkizli, Theres a bunch of maps with no arma 2 assets

Deniland is another. Have not tried it, but it looks great https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1231955722&searchtext=

Karema Island also. Japanese island, with a huge submarine base and some other cool features https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=682140680&searchtext=

I'm looking for the mod that brightens the end of a IR laser like so:

    Vanilla:

    Original Video:

Enhanced visuals by BadBenson? I think. It adds NVG effects like blur, but also adds a lot of bloom to light sources under NVG-that may increase laser brightness.

  8. I played the campaign totally vanilla the first time. Then got hundreds of mods and never looked back. I still use vanilla weapons and gear sometimes..but there really is not enough content to support the game for this long without mods. And many of the mods add much needed features, or are simply better made in terms of models/textures etc

I grew up playing consoles so I always preferred using controllers. I like having the buttons at the palms of my hands. Playing games like Pubg and Escape From Tarkov there is simply not enough buttons on the controller. So I use both a controller and the keyboard. I use the mouse for sniping. I cannot stand using the wsad keys for movement. I prefer the analog stick on a controller. So what I'm wanting to do for Arma 3 is what I've been doing with the other games. Use the main controls and controls I use the most on the controller. Everything else on the keyboard. I've already set up my xbox 360 controller on steam with the controls I want. However, the controller isn't working on the game. None of the buttons do anything. I went to the control config on the game. It shows the controller there. I've done the disable and attempt to change the controls on the menu but nothing happens. Like if I want to change Inventory from the I button to the start button on the controller. I hit the start button and nothing happens. If I'm playing the game and I turn the controller off and back on it works for a brief second.  Is there a way to fix this or is this just a problem with the game that has no fix? Its frustrating because while looking for answers online there are other people using their controller with no problems. Thanks.

The best way to use a controller is by using Xpadder program. I only play with controller, but i use Xpadder-it is amazing. Not sure what is causing your problem though. The controller should appear in the list, then when selected, it should just work

That cooler is fine for moderate overclocking. Anything above the stock cooler is fine for OC'ing. I get you are on a budget, but I will reiterate what some others have said. Waiting a little while until you have enough money for the right parts is often better than buying something that is not really appropriate. You will generally end up replacing the part anyway, thus spending more ultimately. But your build looks good. I hope you enjoy it
