Raenir 10 Posted July 23, 2010 I saw only 2 decently populated servers, one had like 30 people and I got kicked on joining or game session lost, the second server gives me a message saying "downloading mission file" but 0kb/0kb and doesnt work :( How do I join a server or is every server modded or something? Sim.M 48 Posted July 23, 2010 Some of the fuller servers will kick you if you are joining and creating lag. Not all that many servers are running mods (yet) but a few are. When you get that 0% downloading thing it means you've hung and should exit the server and try again. Don't try and join full servers unless you are on their comms is a good rule of thumb to follow. That way you can say "I'm coming onto the server" and hopefully they won't kick you.

Raenir 10 Posted July 24, 2010 How do I find out what the server ip and pw is for any given server? ---------- Post added at 05:05 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:24 AM ---------- still getting "recieving mission file ( 0kb / 0kb ) I added ports to my router, double checked my firewall and nothin. Nothing works for me, mp seems inherently unplayable. ---------- Post added at 05:43 AM ---------- Previous post was at 05:05 AM ---------- Okay disabling DMZ seems to have worked, that or admin mode. Darkhorse 1-6 16 Posted July 24, 2010 You can't find the password. That's why the server has a password... Try googling the name of the server, with arma2 added if nothing comes up. That should give you their website, and you will either find it there, or you will have to join their group/tournament/etc. to play on their server.
jblackrupert 14 Posted July 24, 2010 Many servers sit empty most of the day then wake up at certain hours. Gametracker shows graphs for servers. Just look for the population spikes to get an idea when you join. http://www.gametracker.com/servers/ The server I play on most of the time starts populating around 6-7pm PST.
