RKSL - RAF Eurofighter Typhoon FGR4 Released!

Because I was quite carefull. You can notice it on the ground quite well but also if you try to pick up a target with the cannon and then use the rudder to aim precisely. It's not that kind of noticeable in normal flight. I'm using an old Logitech WingMan Extreme Digital 3D by the way.

Ground handling and in-flight handling are two very separate things. The ground handing is defined by the "wheelSteeringSensitivity" command. It has no affect or relation to the handling once in flight.

...I'm quite sure I didn't hit any key/button. So IFRP is the "Inflight Refuel Prope"? I thought it was related to the countermeasures. Mooooh!

Its the really dumb way the BIS coded the Action menu. They just pop up right in the centre of the screen its a really annoying and utterly stupid system that is way too easy to click by accident.

Yes the IFRP is the Inflight Refueling Probe.

As I also had the problem at larger distances but it seems the "no lock" bug is an OA problem. Maybe the video was a little misleading here. I know what the "X" means. Sorry for not making this clear enough.

Its something they changed in the engine i don't know why but the onscreen radar is really only any good for 3km. Much past that and its virtually useless. I wish they would allow use to properly configure it.

[re Flares] - Yes, would be nice. Maybe if just some more are released in a shorter cycle?

We're looking at increasing the flare counts and the effectiveness but its not right at the front of the que right now.

I am currently writing a 15,000 word thesis on British Defence Policy in economic recession. Flying this in Arma2 makes slating our methods of procurement that little more difficult.

LOL, I've just finished a SDR related contract and from what I've seen the EuroFighter will at least provide value for money compared to some of the ridiculous project spending from various UORs and the differing branches. Especially the Royal Navy. Its criminal what they are getting away with. The RAF is going to get totally reamed in this SDR and the RN is making a grab for all the resources it can.

In which way is it important if you're engaged by missiles? Will the countermeasures (flares) work better if it's closed?

There was a bug in the latest patch thats prevents our flares from deflecting missiles:

Apparently this will be fixed in the next beta patch. I should be able to create hotfix in the mean time, for anyone who is interested.

It depends on when you plan to release the next beta. Some days no problem, some weeks give us the hotfix. :)

that 1000lb bomb is fucking amazing just make sure u are standing back when Ai is dropping it.

how do u use the in flight refueling probe cus when i open the acton menu it is not there. is there a certain speed or altitude you must be at.

I did write a warning about the 1000lbers in the documentation. ;)

RE the IFRP. The action menu is only available when you have 90% or less fuel and right now its only cosmetic. Its there for a future addon/system that we havent even written yet.

Hehe, I haven't even tried the 1000lber, but the jet is awesome, thank you for the great addition to Arma 2, I appreciate the work that you guys put into these mods.

The weapons of this bird seem to be extremely powerful. I just destroyed 2 T72s with one Brimstone and yesterday I've blown up two T90s with one Storm Shadow missile. :D

Love flying around in this bird.

btw good idea about the IFRP

have you seen it were the pilots wingman is able to air refuel his jet or vis versa if he has fuel and the other does not maybe you cold incorparate this. i seen it on a program about the uss ronald regan (aircraft carrier) were thay had to send up a f18 to refuel another f18 cus he missed the arresting wire and was low on fuel. maybe u could incorporate this into your system.

Its called Buddy refueling. And no the Typhoon cant do it. Well not at the moment - i doubt it will ever tbh there is just too much tanker coverage for it to be needed. The buddy system was devleoped for the USN when they were too far from friendly bases for large tankers. They used modified A-6's originally but over the years its been adpated for use with a lot of different aircraft over the years.

I have plans for 3 different aircraft to use as tanker platforms. (When and if we do get around to the the Air to Air Refueling)

Yeah the Brimstones are too over powered. I forgot to tone them down a bit. The secondary damage zone is quite large

if you do are u going to make the c130s able to air to air refuel

I'd prefer not to. It jsut add more complications to an already complex model. But Ive not ruled it out... yet.

Awesome addon! Handeling is amazing, havend found out how to change after burner settings during flight? and like you said the enable button is showing a little to much but this detail doent take away anything of the greatness of this addon ...thanks mate and im sure i speak for a lot of people when i say so! :yay:

I'll see about releasing a config patch for you tomorrow after ive had chance to test it.

In the short term. You can just place an empty Typhoon in the editor and try that. There maybe some texture depenancies that you wont have but i'll try and fix that in the next release.

there's a reason why there has never been a Eurofighter Typhoon cabriolet ... Just saying, in case you run out of ideas :D

hmm how about openable canopy then that you can leave open while flying? that would make it a cabriolet.

Id like this on a slower propellor plane just so I could re-enact the momment in empire of the sun when a young Christian bale waves as a p51 mustang flys paralel of him with his canopy wide open and waving back in slow mo

So, I was having some 'problems' with excessive blackouts even during low-G manoeuvres and it was starting to get on my tits. I discovered you could get rid of it by entering an empty plane instead of starting in the plane.

I'm assuming the blackout thing is in the plane's script? If so, I'd ask you to tone down the effect a bit because it is way too sensitive to be enjoyable - Is that possible without ruining the script :) ?
