Max255 59 Posted July 8, 2010 I think everyone noticed that, when chopper or tracked vehicle passes nearby to you screen shakes. But... When I was playing with friend over net, having some fun with planes, we've made few tries. but - there is NO screen shake when plane passes, even almost cutting your head... It's just breaks immersion in missions with low flying jets... Seeing that choppers cause shake and planes don't just made me sad that day... So it'll be cool if the screen shake for planes could be implemented.
CarlGustaffa 4 Posted July 8, 2010 But there is no force coming down on you. A jets thrust is going down the back of the engines of the jet. A helicopters rotor is pushing air onto your head to remain airborne. A tanks threads & engine transmits through the ground. A jet taking off in front of you, maybe, but you really shouldn't be standing there in the first place.
Max255 59 Posted July 8, 2010 But just look for few vids on the, eg. Youtube... Every time the plane passes by very low and fast there is some kind of shake. Experienced that also in RL - on Airshow, 3 jets (don't know who allowed them fly so low) flew over an airstrip near to me at about 10m/600/700 kph (in the middle of the city, don't ask me). I was standing in line with the runway. Pretty intence and I remember some kind of shake back there... And they were small training jets, not some big ass fighters... Montanaro 0 Posted July 8, 2010 jet wash isn't stuck at one angle, it spreads out a good bit. Two engines create a lot of energy, plenty enough to shake you. Think of airplanes shaking houses. I've had a f16 fly a few hundred feet above me once, and it shook me. Also saw two harriers practicing landing who flew over my apartments and they shook everything. Then they turn on VTOL, and I thought I was going to shit my pants (they were easily 500+ yards away too). Planes will shake you.
