Anyone care to live a second childhood?

Recommended Posts

Avon ladies' topic about the Osama and George W figures reminded me of something else. these high detail 12'' figures of well know and popular military groups that some of you guys on the OPF community might like, they have the popular Rangers, SAS, Marine Recon, Seals, and Swat. the detail is soo great that the weapons are real metal w/ working parts and you are able to remove individual bullets from a belt fed machine gun heres some pics.

heres the British SAS

and close up detail of head

heres a look at a US Ranger w/ a M249 machine gun

"Working" cocking handle with individual bullets

which can be taken out one by one!

there are many more types of military and other collectables for anybody interested in this field of hobbies if your interested

Most of my mates think it's strange that I play computer games.. now imagine what they would be saying if I started playing with dolls smile.gif

They arent dolls. Guys dont buy 'dolls'

They are action figures. Suitable for display.

that's my story, and I'm sticking to it!

some of these figures or dolls which ever you prefer, can be very very very valuable. some of the origonal "GI Joe" dolls are priceless antiques. every watch that "Antiques Roadshow"? they had a special on old toys and some of those can be a value of 100k easiely. wana here the ironic part? chances are they got that exact figure at a garage sale for 2 dollars! i bet the seller would hang him or her self if they saw that exact figure and how much it was worth biggrin.gif besides, both the SAS and the Ranger look pretty macho w/ their equipment.

Ive seen these in a shop before, I was tempted to buy a SAS soldier but didnt want the hassle of my mates taking the piss out of me sad.gifbiggrin.gif

They are even better quality than the old action men before they were taken over and destroyed with lots of bright colours sad.gif

i dont think you would have much luck in keeping him on your hood, modeling glue just gets soaked in cotton and you would end up having to use so much super glue that you might melt a hole in your car smile.gif

I got a  SGT. R. Lee Ermey 12" Motivational Figure that's autographed by Sgt. Ermey himself.  It has like 12 things it says when you push it's button, including some from Full Metal Jacket.

It can say things! I guess the first three will be: you cannot eat me, you cannot put me into the microwave, I am made of plastic and contain toxic colors, dont chew my batteries . This is obligatory in the US where people wonder why coffee is hot (and get 435 million dollar because it actually was hot)

DROOOOOOOOOL!!!!!!!!

I WANT THOSE!!

I got several 12 inch soldiers made by 21st century toys.

They are among the best 12 inch tall soldier producer in the world, only beaten by Blue Box in my opinion who use real metal.

They are soo realistic looking in real life, I had some standing in my room and they look like real soldiers standing there and as if I am watching from several miles away with bonocs.

I reccomend you get some.

Those are cool. I like toys. I would dig them fighting positions in the back yard and use firecrackers to simulate demolitions. Oh the fun I could have. GI Joe or somebody makes some high end stuff that is mainly meant for display because they are so expensive. You should see the paratroopers. They are so detailed. Parachutes have working static lines. I would buy some but I spend all of my extra money on guns and computer junk.

LOL!!, i used to do the exact same thing with my cheap GI Joe's when i was a lot younger. Id pull up little parts of the lawn just a little bit, and kinda shape it so they could hide behind it and things like that. And then i'd sneek fireworks out to my sandbox to make the *POOF* of the dirt from the blast. I can remember setting up some pretty fun scenarios.
