Soviet aircraft

Hey I was looking through some other topics and the issue of there not being enough soviet aircraft came up.  I just wanted to open up a discussion on the matter.  Anyone who has ideas for soviet helicopter and plane addons should post them here.  In a different thread I suggested the Mi-28 Havoc.  Its a later model than the time period in OFP but i think it still would be cool.

Mi-28 didnt exist in 1985. And even nowdays it's not officially adopted by Russian Army, which prefer Kamov-52 Hokum and the old Mi-24.

What the soviets need is a light chopper like OH-58, I suggest adding Mi-2 'Hoplite' Chopper.

Ka-52 would rock. And about it being too new, the G-36 is an official addon, and it was first adopted by an army in 1999... So i don't think that matters too much.

But I bet that BIS will not include Ka-52 to Resistance which takes place in 1982...

I suspect most of the stuff will begin to appear as 3rd party addons as tools are released.

I noted earlier that the Mi-28 is ahead of the time period in OFP. Still, it would be cool just becouse its a fast attack chopper and thats what we really need, a fast soviet attack chopper. The Ka-29 is just to big. The Mi-2 would be cool and i aslo like the Ka-60 idea. It's the only Ka model with one rotor so it would be easier to make. Frankly i dont really care about time period stuff. We just need aircraft!

True, so probably the Mi-2 best fits the discription. I've looked alot but havnt really found anything else. Any ideas for Soviet fighter planes? I suggested a Mig and someone else suggested Yak-38.

I think the Havoc was revield to the US in 1986.It was top secret so it wasnt known about.If i remeber right it was around in 1985.I agree with Swedish man.Russia needs some more helicopter.

the mi-8 is the russian name for the mi-17 i think, they use the mi-17 for export or something, and an mi-26 would be nice, something to rival the chinook, the mi-26 can have 100 seats

The Mi-17 is just an improved, modernised Mi-8..I don't think there would be much difference in the game.

Is it me or do russians make alot of passenger helicopters? We need something that is strictly an attack chopper. My vote goes to the Havoc.
