ixion 10 Posted May 22, 2010 Before I start, yes I do have a legitimate copy of the game, I bought it off of STEAM a while ago. So this isn't (or shouldn't) be a FADE issue. Now I haven't played in a while, but I recently installed the game again (download/install on STEAM) and there seems to be a bug with the aiming reticule. Whenever I fire a weapon, the bullet lands slightly down and to the right of the reticule. See picture below. Now I'm pretty sure when I played it before it would fire accurately. The wierd thing is, if I fire a weapon using the iron sights or a scope/red dot, it is spot on...? Am I missing something here? Any help/info is appreciated. Did not move reticule, that's where I aimed and that's where the bullet landed.
Maverick806 0 Posted May 23, 2010 I'm sure it's been covered before and it's still not a bug... The round originates from the rifles barrel not the center of the screen
ixion 10 Posted May 23, 2010 Hey Maverick, thanks for the reply. Is this something new they released with one of their patches? I don't remember that from playing when it first came out. Anyways, so you're saying this is normal?
celery 8 Posted May 23, 2010 Hey Maverick, thanks for the reply. Is this something new they released with one of their patches? I don't remember that from playing when it first came out. Anyways, so you're saying this is normal? It's been in the games since Operation Flashpoint. It's a simple matter of perspective and origin of the bullet. For more accurate aiming, use the sights. kridian 33 Posted May 23, 2010 ixion, have you patched the game to 1.05? I recall an earlier patch having horrendous shot grouping.
ixion 10 Posted May 23, 2010 Thanks Celery.. I just don't remember it being that far off from before. But then i can't help but wonder... why have the reticle there in the first place? ---------- Post added at 12:42 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:40 PM ---------- Kridian, yes I have. It's the same for both 1.04 and 1.05.
Maddmatt 1 Posted May 23, 2010 But then i can't help but wonder... why have the reticle there in the first place? Aim at something further away and you'll see it is accurate. You can turn it off in the difficulty options though.
SASrecon 0 Posted May 23, 2010 Try shoot at something 20-30m away head-on (not looking up or down) if it's not anywhere your crosshairs then something may have accidentally triggered fade
