Shoot voice command profile(pls share)

Recommended Posts

Hello Michael

I guess that VAC would be a better choice. I know, it's not a freeware but as far as I understood it is a better programm.

Read this in case you haven't already done it.

It's 30 days free trial after that you need to purchase it. 18 bucks if I'm not wrong and it's definitely worth it.

kind regards

I am guessing you are asking because money is an issue or something similar because you have been here long enough to notice the VAC tread or maybe even noticed my own profile with about 800 or something voice commands...

If you try it you probably wont look back, but thats your choice.

I have only had experience with VAC (excluding GameVoice years ago) so I cant really testify on how well other programs work, but to find other really good profiles I think you will have to dig deep. Just out of curiousness, I mean ofp is 10 years old, I tried to find other profiles I considered good enough, but the only one I found was a profile for Pilfius, another free program. Which seemed okay because Pilfius can understand fluent language (you dont need to pause between each voice command). Which makes the voice order list allot shorter. My Arma 2 profile circumvents this the hard way by having loads of commands and these again being balanced in context to each other (to minimize false responses), but I got the impression that VAC, the actual software, was more dynamic if you wanted to do more advanced stuff in regards to the keys. Then again VAC cant do mouse scroll so no program is perfect.

Pilfius links.

Pilfius doesn't seem to work (well) with some versions of Vista and Win7. If you intend to try Pilfius, you should use XP for best results. Shoot does not understand fluent speech. It forces you to. speak. like. ArmA-soldiers. Which may not be a bad thing when playing BIS-games.

The user thales100 said in another thread that he uses Shoot. Perhaps you could ask him by PM if he's willing to share his profile. But making your own profile should not be too difficult. In fact, this helps you to remember your phrases.

Currently VAC seems to be a good solution if you are willing to pay the price. Last time I checked it was 18USD.

If you want mouse support, GlovePie seems a good choice. GlovePie is free. It was designed for data gloves but it can be used to operate many other gadgets including Wii controllers, multiple joystcks, mice, etc. It also comes with a voice control system which has been tested successfully with the German boxed version of ArmA2.

JojoTheSlayer, I have seen the readme to your VAC-profile and I am very impressed. I haven't tried it out yet but I certainly will. Is your profile finished as it is now or are you still working on it. Are there any aspects of the game which you decided not to control with VAC such as lesser used features like saluting or surrendering?

Well I'm the kind of person who has no means to do an online transaction lol. I'm also hesitant to spend the $18.00 .

Credit card information stealing is rampant where I live and once the credit card is found to have been used in an online transaction it would be difficult to claim otherwise in illegal credit card transaction. Some people suspect that the some people from the bank are involved. Or the information stolen when used in an offline transaction.

Same here, Michael! I have already passed on many "opportunities" for the very same reason. And even if there is no crime, it can be complicated to return a faulty product or get a refund, etc. This is - by the way - the reason why I'm still playing without Track IR.

Yes, I do consider v2.04 the last one for Arma 2.

I will maybe do an update for Arrowhead if I think its necessary.

So theres no problem providing feedback still.

Everything thats somewhat useful for squad command is covered.

High command is covered to the extent is dosent conflict with squad, but you basically have access to everything in a similar fashion.

There are some other voice commands that are added, like ACE 2 "combat scoop" to switch between iron and scoop on some weapons or "auto move forward" to toggle down W key (auto run) etc, but the profile is not about saying "reload" to reload your weapon or similar. "Salute player" for some reason is in the profile though LoL. :)

If you do consider to try it I recommend doing the v2.04 training mission (radio 0,0). Since it will guide you through the basics and its probably the best way to see the profiles potential.

I used a credit card via Paypal. They have an option where only Paypal sees your details. VAC gets a transaction from Paypal, not you. Its a one screen fill out and it only lasts for that transaction. Paypal takes a short fee for the service, but its separate from Paypal accounts etc. Ergo, you dont need one, create one or similar and depending on what credit card service you use (Visa or similar) your transaction is covered law wise there as well if something should go wrong. The VAC guy is probably a okay dude, but I dont trust him with my credit card information... nothing personal. Just saying you have options to get around the "small company getting my credit card info" issue I to was worried about.

I understand this perfectly. I wouldn't use my real credit card for online payments either.

I'm using a pre-payed card with paypal. That means I'm loading the card only with the money I need to do a transaction and that's all. Never had any problems with that.

kind regards

That's very interesting I see if I could get that from the banks here though I doubt it because otherwise I would have heard abt it.

Used to use Shoot with great success in ArmA1. The Operation Flashpoint profile bundled with it is an excellent start-point, most of the commands should work in ArmA 2 as well. Maybe you could give it a shot?
