ArmA II on Impulse

So I recently noticed that ArmA II is available on Impulse and thought if it can be modded. I didn't post this in the "New to ArmA II and have a question or two" thread because I'm not new to ArmA II, at least not yet.

So can the Impulse version of ArmA II be modded?

Impulse is a digital delivery system, just like many others. You can mod it in exactly the same ways as if you bought the box and DVD. It might install in a different folder, like the steam version, but other than that, it's identical.

Thanks. I just wasn't sure if you can mod the game, as there are some games (at least on Steam) that can't be modded because of the fact that they were bought from there.

Hi, I just bought ArmA II on Impulse and started the download - they only have version 1.04. Could someone confirm that it is possible to use the official BIS patch archive to upgrade to 1.05 (as with Steam) or is there another recommended way?

Im 99.999% sure its possible to patch to 1.05 with the official patch.

yes it will work with mods and can be updated like any other online distribued version of ARMA 2 (e.g. STEAM)

Steam won't update to current version. Get the patch and install it yourself. Then your as good as gold.
