Landing and Running

Recommended Posts

Hi all, guys! I'm a newcomer, and I'm italian, so forgive me if I make some mistakes with the english language

However, here is my question: in the ArmA2's editor I'm trying to create a particular mission, but I get in troble. I make two teams of BLUFOR that are inserted into the action by a couple of CRRC; now, when these men land, they stay there and do nothing. I want them to run in the near forest. I think I need waypoints, obviosly, but how can I make them to become active only after the landing?

I hope you know a way to do something like that, thank you!

What you need is a "get out" wapoint at the beach followed by a "move" waypoint nto thje forrest...thats all!

First of all, thank you for your quick reply :)

Unfortunately the question is not so simple: the CRRCs have a own waypoint, that take them to the beach; there the men are unloaded and the drivers of the CRRCs go away with the boats, continuing their waypoints. The situation is this: I am with this landed men that are without any previos waypoint, so simply stand still. I was thinking about triggers, but how?

You dot need triggers, just waypoints.

Make the Beach Waypoint of the CRRC a "unload" waypoint. Make a "Get out" wapoint for the inserted squad near that and use "synchronize" to synchronize this two Waypoints.

You can then do any waypoints you like.

Ah-ha! I did it! Thank you! Only one thing is not like I would like: as the mission begin the team leader give the order to move. I would have preferred he gives the order at the landing.

No problem, just add a "MOVE" waypoint before the "UNLOAD" Waypoint. make sure you set CRRC to safe, that gives best Behaviour on route.

Ok, I'll try that and I'll let you know, thank you again! May I take advantage of you for another question? How can I ensure that the headlights of a vehicle are lit?

As a quick note. Vehicles on safe will have headlights on until they spot the enemy and then they will go to either aware or more likely combat. If you set them to "careless" they will disregard enemies no matter what and always keep their lights on. The problem with that though is that if they leave the vehicle you can walk right up to them and they will not fire.
