Can't Hear Others Shoot

Recommended Posts

When playing coop with my friends I can't hear them shoot and they can't hear me shoot. However, they can all hear each other shoot just fine. I've tried a variety of sound mods and I've tried not using any sound mods. I don't know if it's some sort of network issue or what. Any help is appreciated.

It's probably due to them having different sound mods, tell your friends to delete any sound mods they have and just use the ACE_SM one. There should be no problem if you all have the exact same one.

Like I said above, we've tried it with and without sound mods. It doesn't matter if we are all running no sound mod, the ACE sound mod, or the CSM2 mod. No matter what the configuration, the problem is still there.

Have you any problems in SP? No sound all the time?

Then try downloading the newest OpenAL driver.

In Armed Assault 1 there where several problems with outdated drivers.

But I honestly don't know if OpenAL is used in ArmA 2. Give it a try!

Nah, Arma 2 doesn't use OpenAL. Arma 1 did but Arma 2 uses XAudio9 (Direct X 9's audio engine)

Good suggestion to follow though, you could try updating Direct X 9 to see if that helps.

Heh, yeah didn't think of that. When the OP mentioned that he tried it without any sound mods I automatically thought he meant without any mods. Some mods have sound mods built into them and others could just conflict (like an older version of CBA), so best to update all your mods and also try running it without any mods to see if you still have the same problem.

@Culti

Is the modfolder @ACEX_SM deactivated? You could also try to start ArmA

complete without any mods and then activate the mods successive.

As soon as the problem appears you've found the mod which conflicts with others. Hope this helps! :)

Ok..thx.. the problem are the RH-Weapon-replacements.... they are not compatible with the ACE2-Mod.... :rolleyes:

Edit: Ok.... RH-Weapon Replacement are not the problem... it was a soundmod again.. ;)
