cri74 10 Posted March 8, 2010 (edited) Hi there ! I was wondering if there is a way to specify keys accepted by the server ? I know the verifySignatures=1;, but what i need is to specify the keys in my server.cfg. We run 1 box with 2 port adresses and thats why i ask :) I would like to run one type of game on one port and another type of game on the other. But by veryfying signatures all keys are put in one folder and the same keys are needed for both games(servers) :( Or a way to have separate forlders ? Like c:/Arma2/server3 verifySignatures=1; c:/Arma2/server4 verifySignatures=1; Hope there is a way to do it, thanks for tips and advice Edited March 8, 2010 by cri74
Taxman 10 Posted March 8, 2010 I have a copy of my arma folder, eg.. I run the main server under normal folder and cfg files... then with my 3v 3 servers I use a duplicate of the folder and and a shortcut directed towards this folder, this way you can also have diff maps on the server list, diff addons, signatures etc... I thought that was the only way to do it.. but Im normally wrong :)
cri74 10 Posted March 8, 2010 (edited) I got one folder for each server too (where i put the server.cfg's and stuff), but the keys folder is in Arma2 folder and shared. So if i put a keys folder into each server folder this would work you mean? As you see on IP adress to the servers in my signature.. there are 2 servers on each IP Edited March 8, 2010 by cri74
Defunkt 431 Posted March 8, 2010 Windows or Linux? You could maybe try creating a second install folder with everything except keys a symbolic link to the first install.
Taxman 10 Posted March 8, 2010 My folders are full copies buddy, each server runs independent of the other ones..... this way.. I can run diff maps on each server.... 3 v3 server only holds 3 v 3 maps etc.... not sure how to even do it the same way as you have..... Do both servers use the same missions folder also ? Nm.. though.. if you have the access then why not make a complete copy of the main folder ? this way you have 2 servers that can run diff mods, maps, signatures etc. Btw my servers will all have same ip's also... just differant ports (obviously)
Defunkt 431 Posted March 8, 2010 FYI I just tried the symlink idea on our Linux box and it has worked a treat, separate keys and mpmissions folders and everything else is a link (even the server binary) so there is still only one install to maintain/update. I think NTFS supports symbolic links also.
cri74 10 Posted March 8, 2010 (edited) Taxman - Yes they share missionsfolder too, but what missions to be playd on each server is set in the separate server.cfg's. The servers work separate from eachother by starting up two different exe files and i hoped there was some way to designate the keys in startup parameter for the exe file by pointing to the location or in server.cfg or something like that. What i want to do is make server 3 and 4 accept different keys Thanks Defunkt, im not familiar with the symlink. We are running on a windows system atm, but possible to switch to linux too i guess. Ill try to get some more information about symlink. Edited March 11, 2010 by cri74
cross 1 Posted March 9, 2010 (edited) AS TAXMAN SAID EARLIER.. Just crate a copy of your Arma2 folder and rename it to Arma2Server2 So each server has its own ArmA2 folder, thus, keys folder, server settings, missions, addons etc... It is better for avoiding file conflicts and easier to manage There is no command for specifying keys folder....ie unless any undisclosed by BI. edit..happy now? :P Edited March 9, 2010 by Cross
