SkaceKachna 52 Posted March 7, 2010 Hello, i have big (maybe?) problem. When I play Arma, in few minutes, game stuck and in about 5 sec from stuck, BSOD show, i can read something about display drivers, etc.. When I rebooted computer i found some Warnings in System Logs, that showed about few seconds before BSOD: "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully restored." -this showed up about 2x times before crash I checked graphic card temperature before crash and it was about 60-70C, nothing unusual.. Sry for bad English, i can write it in CZ if someone wants
W0lle 1052 Posted March 7, 2010 "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully restored." I have this message sometimes too, especially when running another DirectX application besides A2 but it never leads to a BSOD, just screen goes black for a second and back. Have you tried installing the latest Nvidia drivers (or if that's the case tried an older version)? My current version is 196.21 and I don't have any problems with it (GTX 280). Also install the latest DirectX updates. If the problem persists, please create a dxdiag logfile and upload it somewhere we can check. And your english is okay, no need to switch to czech (which the majority doesn't understand) :)
SkaceKachna 52 Posted March 7, 2010 Yes, it was first what i did, i have 196.21 (Nvidia 9series) here is dxdiag log: http://www.zipek.cz/DxDiag.txt
W0lle 1052 Posted March 7, 2010 There are more actual Realtek HD audio drivers available than yours, you can get them from the Realtek website: R2.43 There is also a slightly older version available at Gigabyte: R2.41 Might not be related but I've heard about a couple of crashs because of outdated sound drivers. Eventually this helps.
tyler4171 10 Posted March 7, 2010 Perhaps you can offer me some help to, I am experiencing some odd BSODs too http://www.filefront.com/15768851/DxDiag.txt
W0lle 1052 Posted March 7, 2010 Latest Nvidia WHQL drivers for your card are also 196.21 (released 19-JAN-2010) For audiodrivers (SoundMAX HD Audio) you may check the website from your mainboard manufacturer as Analog Devices does not provide any enduser drivers. Unfortunately your dxdiag log does not reveal the used mainboard. If you are not sure, check the manuals provided with your PC. I also would install the latest SP3 for Windows XP. You may also get the latest DirectX9 update. As always: Make backups of important data first.
SkaceKachna 52 Posted March 7, 2010 Thanks for advices, but problem persist... I can describe what extractly happen ... game sounds stuck for a sec but then works normal, and it sounds that everything is normal, game running, i can hear soliders firing, walking, talking, but screen is black, and in few seconds BSOD appears.... and in moment when game stuck, lots of small random color rectangles appear across screen, some textures change to pure black, it looks like graphic card going to explode... Horus 83 Posted March 7, 2010 @tyler4171 go to Control Panel ->Sound and Audio->Audio and mark Use only default devices ( SoundMAX HD Audio ). And how you have DirectX Version: DirectX 10.0 on WinXP
SkaceKachna 52 Posted March 9, 2010 (edited) Time between game lunch and crash is every start shorter, BUT it can be caused by some actions i do (for examples, when i have 2 tanks, and 1 AT team and attack that infantry, it crash instantly). I tried to disable sounds (in game), but without effect. (I can play other games, like BC2, Crysis, without that crash, so i don't think its HW problem) EDIT: I caught the error, it says Attempt to Reset Display Driver and Recover from Timeout Failed Edited March 9, 2010 by MEN-X
