How can I tell my commanded units where to go precisely ingame (not in editor)?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'd like to directly tell my AI units how to approach a specific destiny on the map.

How would I do that? You can't lay waypoints for individual units ingame as far as I know.

I don't like them finding their own way at all times because often they get spotted that way. They don't calculate a way regarding the positions of enemy units as it seems to me.

A relating problem is that your units won't follow you directly if the follow command is given, instead they again approach your position based on their own calculations and again the above stated problem occurs.

I'm looking forward to suggestions.

thank you, I'll try out if the tactical mode of the AI will make any difference.

EDIT:

Didn't make a difference. The Friendly AI runs around like an elephant stampede even in Stealth mode and alerts surrounding enemies by the noise of their footsteps.

You have to move them one at a time as opposed to moving the whole group as one.....If you want it done asap... I usually run with them and just keep using my mouse and key commands to move them along.... lots of "F3: (1-6,7-8,)" "F3: (7-7,move there{mouse point/click on spot 30m away})"...ect, for all the units.. When you master the number commands, you can move a squad as fast as you can think and type. Still waiting for Bis to make them smarter for group movement under combat/stress...

I didn't think about sending them individually. Thank you for your help!

Looks promising! Will look out for a release of the mod.

The GL4 mod already has a lot of improvements regarding group movement. You should check that out - it is released, as opposed to that other mod

Hi MrXToTheN

You do know there is "High Command Module" available dont you?

A lot of it works off the middle mouse button. I will try to find a manual for you. You can have a look in this thread in the mean time.
