increase max sounds at same time?

hi guys!

simple question: how can i increase max sounds at same time in A2?

when i have a large battle, from time to time many sounds getting lost, like my own footsteps, engine sounds etc. Or if i shoot many rokets at same time i have completely no sounds for short time.

to me it looks like arma uses max 16 sounds at one time, but my soundcard (theatron agrippa - dolby digital/dts) supports up to 64 sounds!

this problem destroys the whole war athmosphere, i would be pleased if one knows a solution! ty!

This is a VERY annoying issue and as I remember, one that has been around since OFP/ArmA 1 (especially where Helo/Aircraft rockets are concerned).

I think there is a similar thing happening to sounds as happens with lights, i.e. only the brightest/loudest and nearest is processed, using some formula that looks at how loud some events are and what their dropoff is. I suspect it's rather complex :)
