Time for some updates!

Our AK5c have been updated quite a lot. Mostly details, but now we also have a version with grenadelauncher :D Just some final tweaks left ingame, and then we're good to roll!

And then we have the AK4, some minor texture-adjustments so far. We're still working on adding the Aimpoint and tweaking the hand-animation though, since it's a little weird fit. Not sure yet how much more updated it will be until Beta1.

Sweet! Im also glad to see that there are more people then me that want to see the Stridsbåt 90 in the game. The reson to why you guys didnt think of the water in the game is because it isnt used at all right now for warfare. There are not that much of competition on the boatside of the game right now so a Stridsbåt 90 would make a great contribution to the swedish forces. :)

The weapons look great! Cant wait to use them in combat. :)

Nah, we dont play warfare, only custom coop-missions within the clan and joint-ops. I think we've used boats like one time since ArmA2 came out, and that was just during like 5 minutes to take us in to shore at the beginning of the mission :p If there were more inland-rivers and such, they would be really awesome and higher on our to-do list. But as it is today, even with most custom-made maps, it's not that encouraged to use. But I'm sure it will be in the near future, and Stridsbåt90 will be done some day :)

However, if you know anyone who can help us with the model, just throw me a PM and we should be able to speed things up a little ;)

haha sry, with warfare i didnt mean the gamemode, i ment warfare as in war ;) coop or whatever... :) I dont know alot of people sadly that can do 3d models but im going in the future to nag at all the mapmakers to put inland-rivers in their maps... ;)

Good day people!

I'm sorry for the bad activity here lately, but most of us have been a little busy irl this week. The release of Beta1 of SAM have been a little delayed, since we wanted to add a few more things and make some performance tweaks to the mod first. The goal with this first release is to give you swedish infantry as complete as possible to play with, along with the gear and different basic roles. This because we want to be able to focus more on vehicles for the Beta2 release later on ;)

We've set an absolute release-date on friday next week (5th March), but we're aiming for wednesday (3rd March). So in any way, the mod will definitely be available for download next week :)

To make up for the delay, we'll also add two more soldier-models in Beta1, this time with full gear (Medic and grunt). Unfortunately it will still just be retextured bis-models as placeholders, but we hope they will be good enough to use until we have our new solder-models done. There were just too many people asking for full combat gear on the soldiers :p So there you have it!

Looking real good guys! :)

Remember, about the boats more islands have rivers now that can be used by fast boats to deploy deeper into the land. It could be a nice change from the ground/air vehicle deployment we almost always do. A combat boat 90 would be a breath of fresh air.

Just my 50 öre. :)

Why this mod should not be available as standalone too? Like fromz's OHPLA Mod ;)

Guess that many people don't like bigger mod/addon dependency packs.

@NoRailgunner: Well, we decided, since we really like to play with ACE and its features, to have the mod use ACE. however, you can still so far start it without ace, if im not mistaken (just tested), though you might get error messages about items not found like bandages, backpacks etc.

there might be a non ace config later on, perhaps for Beta 2 or so.

Realy sweet addon!

A suggestion is that you also make groups so you can finish a trainingmission in 30 seconds, like before, and dont have to place each individual unit manually. :)

A small problem with the aimpoint dot. It seems to use the same method as in ArmA1 wich lose the brightness when not in the sun resulting in almost invisible dot. Im guessing it will be changed though since its beta.

Everything looked great in the mod. Awesome work guys. :)

Hmm yesterday when i played a (Desert) AR i noticed that the ammo i had on me didnt work in the weapon? I couldnt shoot a bullet even thou i had 7 mags on me. Anyone else had this problem?

Does this happen to be with the tracer-ammo? I had that same problem a few weeks ago before we released the mod, but no one else in the team did. Then it suddenly disappeared, and I thought maybe it had to do with some bad ACE2-version. And it havent come back since then.

But now it's back again ey. Hm, we'll make sure to look into it again for next update. In the meantime it should work to simply resupply by the ammobox to non-tracer ammo, worked for me :) If you havent got the latest ACE2-version, then please update and see if it works.

Yeah, unfortunately we didnt test it enough in those types of environments to notice. But we've had several reports about this now and will take a look at it for the next version :) Thanks!

Where can i find the AK4?

Since it's not a standard weapon with the type of forces we have in SAM today, you have to either grab it yourself from our weapon-box (See in ReadMe-file where to find it in the editor), or you can add it to your characters manually in the editor using the classnames for the weapon and ammo, which you also can find in the readme-file ;)

On the news-front, we're terribly sorry for the crappy KSP58-texture that managed to slip through. I blame my old poor screen for that! Got a new Eizo-screen instead this week, and oooh the colors became so much clearer! So now we've reworked the KSP58-texture, based on a matching one in ArmA2. Here are some first screenshots of it. Hopefully we'll get some time to work on it even more. The quality probably wont be as terrific as the AK5c because of the simple model, but at least it's a lot better!

Woha, not much activity here lately :p

Anyways, a new version (Beta 1.1) is coming this weekend, if everything turns out as planned. Unfortunately not much new, but mostly a lot of fixes, tweaks and stuff like that. We have however decided to add that temporary fully geared soldier that we cut out of Beta1. This would give us some more time to work on the completely new soldier-model, which is estimated to be finished in 1-2 weeks with a basic texture. Then begins the really tricky work with implementing it into the game, tweaking it and making a few more texture-variations. It should be ready for the 1.2 version, and pictures will come very soon ;) So just hang in there.

Here's a sample of how the temporary soldier will look anyway. It will probably take the role as SSG-soldiers when our new model is done, but for now it will be our infantry-model :) It has a new m90-texture as well, with more modern colors and much better quality. It will however not be applied on the old m90-soldiers since they will be cut out later on anyway.
