Red hammer mission

my buddy is going to be shoot in 15minutes and I been trying to save his ass.But there is a chopper that takes me out whole the time.Do anyone have an idea how to play this mission to a happy end?

you can take the tank (only you) and stop your buddies at home.

you can let them kill then first few soldiers, but then halt them.

take the road left, up the mountain

from now on never open fire or wait longer than urgent

always look in front of you, until you see the enemy (tanks) for the first time. get then right (30 degree) off the road, until you reach a forest. go to the left along this forest and pass a big rock.

drive now to the street that you should see now (there could be a truck)(don't shoot). then follow this road. the attack heli shouldn't have seen you. (if it sees you/you hear it, save, then stop your tank, move to gunners seat and take it down with your cannon).

if you arrive at the compound (prison) you have to get your buddie back (i suggest run on the right wall, behind the houses)

the way back shouldn't be too hard (if your vehicle is destroyed, find another on or set time to 4x and run, there's few enemy infantry)

i have no better solution, so GOOD LUCK

the way i did that mission was ehh   well not sure if its cheating sort off

i accelerated the game speed  and just left the local enemy without firing a shot  and at this fast speed just zigzagged thru the woods etc unitll i was near the base with the soldier thats to be executed, then saved it at that point when i was out of the vehicle, which left me about 5 mins to infiltrate the base and rescue the soldier at normal game speed

You can shoot down those choppers with sabot. I destroyed 2 Mi17's and one hind with sabot in that mission.

Probably my least favourite official mission ever. By luck more than skill I opened fire on the BMP roadblock straight off then veared up the trees with the BMP keeping close to me.

Kept my eyes open until I saw smoke from the armour up ahead through the trees. Switched to gunner and took the shot by dead reckoning. As the survivors came to investigate I could pick them off through gaps in the trees and killed them with help from the BMP. At this point the Hind arrived and again took it out with the main gun.

Saved, switched back to driver and bolted east(ish) down the hill and then up the road. After that you should have no problems though I ran the tank off the road on the way home and we had to walk the rest of the way.

This is a tough one though so be prepared for several attempts.

What I did the most recent time I played was this: make sure you are the commander of your tank. Order the other two soldiers to get into the tank as well as driver and gunner. Once they get in, use the action menu to switch to the driver's seat. This may be a bug, but now you can act as commander (target things) as well as drive the tank. You don't have the radar but you don't really need it.

Take out the roadblock up ahead (run over troops etc) while your gunner goes to work. Then get off the road and drive along the hill (not on the road -- too many tanks). Watch out for a little column of armour that's nearby, but you should be able to outrun them. When choppers come flying toward you, order your gunner to target them with sabot and fire (he's a good shot ). Make your way to the camp and rescue your friend. Make one of your men disembark and get into the nearby Shilka as gunner. Put your recued comrade in the tank and go back the way you came (watch out for that same column of armour that you might have seen before). You don't need to get all your troops to the evac (only you and the rescued one) so don't worry about the guy in the Shilka.

Lmao, what I did on my mere second effort, was go around all the bases and enemy units, as in go West around all the thick forests. I met an Mi-17, but my gunner eventually got rid of it. Then with like, 1 minute to go, I reached Sergei, and ordered my gunner to hop out into the heavy infantry crossfire, and instead made Sergei the new gunner (the other guy was injured anyway - no need for him in this lifetime, lmao!. Then it was simply a case of backtracking along the same route, with 2 Mi-17s chasing me with rockets (Sergei made short work of them), and finally speeding down this steep mountain down to the extraction point.

Use machine gun on takn to take out helis. be the commander in the tank. Don't go through the massive base at the start. Mines around the base as well.
