soul_assassin 1750 Posted January 5, 2010 You need to have a View - Pilot LOD (just create it like any other LOD) in it copy paste the model from LOD 0 and remove everything the driver wouldn't see. Make sure to copy all the proxies there too.
slatts 1978 Posted January 6, 2010 You need to have a View - Pilot LOD (just create it like any other LOD) in it copy paste the model from LOD 0 and remove everything the driver wouldn't see. Make sure to copy all the proxies there too. do you mean copy the whole car and cut out the rear and wheels? etc or just select all and paste?
soul_assassin 1750 Posted January 6, 2010 I really dont know how to rephrase my sentence. Take everything from LOD 0 copy it, go to LOD View - Pilot, paste it, select part that driver would not see i.e. front bumper, delete it, or dont delete it it does not matter. jasono 0 Posted January 6, 2010 The only things you would keep is the interior (even make this more detailed in this LOD than the others if you wanted to) and delete the parts from the LOD like wheels, front bumper, rear bumper, lights etc. Simply so there are less polygons in that LOD when you are driving. It helps on the resources, but isn't a requirement as such. You should end up with like a box of just where the interior sits and the top of the hood. [aps]gnat 28 Posted January 6, 2010 As SA and Jason said You can copy the a whole resoltion lod and call it the Cargo View or Pilot View etc Cargo View is easier, covers everyone, Pilot (driver), Gunner and actual passengers (cargo), but for some vehicles it may no be suitable. To optimize the model, and trim the Cargo, Pilot or Gunner views, simply just imagine "what is it that they can never see from sitting in that seat" eg, on Cars: wheels, bumpers, mud flaps, grills, roof racks etc etc But as a tip. The cockpit or dash detail in a Resolution LOD is usually actually LESS detailed than in say a Cargo View LOD. In simple terms, like in reality, from outside a car, you see less detail of whats inside.
