blackpulpit 10 Posted December 28, 2009 Not sure were to post this exactly and i did search but could not find what I was looking for. I would like to take a mission from Arma2 or a co-op multiplayer one and open it in my editor to change a few things and play it in single player. I heard about keygets un-pbo thing but have no idea how to use it or how to do this. Could someone help me out here with directions.
mrbinkels 10 Posted December 28, 2009 I've been wondering the same thing. I couldn't find anything on the forum searching. I'm sure it's a eureka moment when you finally figure it out.
Minoza 11 Posted December 29, 2009 OK, I can help you with this, but I have another problem that is bothering me... Anyways, theoretically, and I did it in past, but now I can't for some reason, you need some extractor tool for PBO files, Eliteness for example, then you unPBO mission file with it. This action will create Mission folder in same place where your mission file is. Place new created Mission folder to Documents->Arma 2/Arma 2 Other Profiles (if you don't use default)->Missions/MPMissions depending on is it MP or SP mission... Now, my problem... I can't open any custom SP/MP mission, not even F2 mission tool... If I create some mission in editor and save it (for some reason even if I export to MPMissions it sitll saves in Missions...) I am able to open that one, but I can't open any mission that is not created by me e.g. online MP missions etc...
mosh 0 Posted December 29, 2009 I use Cpbo to extract and repack missions. You can't edit official missions (that I know of), only player made missions. You can play most coops by yourself, just start a local host at the multiplayer screen. And if you are having problems opening mission PBOs, patch 1.05 changed a few things, read this... http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=92290
Deadfast 43 Posted December 29, 2009 You can't edit official missions (that I know of), only player made missions. That's incorrect. The official missions were created in the editor too. All you have to do is copy the mission (name.Island) to My Documents\ArmA 2\missions and you can simply load it in the editor.
Minoza 11 Posted December 29, 2009 @Mosh Thx man, I aksed there but I'm afraid my problem isn't file association because I am able to unPBO file (because I use Eliteness which has GUI and you don't have to associate it with any extension...), my problem is opening mission file from editor. When I want to Load mission from Editor I can only load my mission (test one) which I have previously saved with editor... But editor wont read any other mission files even though I placed more mission files in Missions dir... It only reads my mission... ---------- Post added at 05:49 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:48 PM ---------- That's incorrect. The official missions were created in the editor too. K, thanks, I don't know why I thought that. :) -I was thinking of the mission wizard files... @Minoza, which directory are you saving them in? Your missions folder in your 'program files' Arma 2 folder or your 'documents' Arma 2 folder? *EDIT* I just noticed you are using your 'documents' mission folder... I forget what I read quick sometimes... I'll just shutup for now until I have better info Edited December 29, 2009 by Mosh helps if I learn to read
Herr_kalashnikov 10 Posted December 29, 2009 I would like to add that if u change ur ArmA name in something different then ur 'Windows username' (thats probably everyone) the directory is: %my documents%\Arma 2 Other Profiles\%playername%\missions

Minoza 11 Posted December 30, 2009 Go to Multiplayer->LAN->New->Start some mission thank you Minoza I appreciate it alot, could you tell me were to place the co-op mission, does it go in my Arma2/MPMission folder? Afaik yes. But if it doesn't work then you can also try Missions folder or Missions/MPMissions inside your Documents/Arma2 or Documents/Arma 2 Other Profiles. But it should work placing them in Arma install dir/MPMissions...
