LANCERZz 10 Posted December 26, 2009 I just got this game and I haven't beaten the basic default Coop. All I find in the servers are weird specialized custom games, and no one joins when I host my own game. My Steam ID is eiighty. Add me anytime if you're interested. terox 316 Posted December 27, 2009 Hi, hope you are enjoying your ARMA2 game. If you are searching for organised coop gameplay then there are some Community Servers available to you, such as "Tactical Gamer" (runs mostly on US times) or "Zeus Gaming Community", which I represent. Check this link out: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=85268 We tend to stay away from the main stream "Gamey" missions such as Evolution, Domination etc and stick with more realistic scenarios. For comms we use Teamspeak 2 (soon to be Teamspeak 3), since it has the versatility needed for teamwork oriented missions. We use ACE mod with some additional addons because we believe it is the best package out there to achieve the best gameplay. To avoid the usual hassle with getting setup with the right addons, we have created a manual which gives you all the relevant information and tutorials in one handy package. Getting ready for the game should take no more than 30 minutes (Not including download time for the addons). Still a bit of time but better than messing around with it for days on end. We run sessions twice a week (Thursday and Sunday), so If you are around tonight, why not give us a try. If you have any questions or need some help sorting yourself out in some fashion, some of us are bound to be on teamspeak or IRC at any given time, so just drop by. Anyways, best of luck with the gaming. Sincerely, Terox PS. Our YOMA repository is being worked upon at the moment, it should be ready by approximately 16:30 UK time
alleycat 28 Posted December 27, 2009 I do not have problems with downloading extra addons, however I do not use mics or teamspeak.
hund 0 Posted December 27, 2009 you don't really need a mic, some just type or use voip, but without teamspeak you might feel a bit left out of the loop.
terox 316 Posted December 27, 2009 (edited) I do not have problems with downloading extra addons, however I do not use mics or teamspeak. If you really want to experience Multiplayer, then you will find that a lot of servers use one of 3 additional communications applications and try wherever possible to not use the built in comms Teamspeak 2 Teamspeak 3 Beta (Lacks functionality of Channel Commander at present) Ventrilo Mumble Most if not all the ingame comms is done via these applications, each server community has their own preference as to which Comms package they use. Each comms package has pro's and cons, of which isnt really important to this thread. Although some plonker will most likely turn this thread into a X is better than Y argument But what i would advise is downloading and installing all of them and get familiar with how to set up connections to servers, that way when you join a server you ask for their connection info and quickly get online with them From a gaming community that has been running for 7 years +now, trying to command players not on our preferred comms package is a pain in the butt and as Hund said, if you arent on the Servers preferred comms application you will find yourself out of the loop, going the wrong way and firing on friendlies which wont go down too well.
