Yoma 0 Posted November 25, 2009 This might be a call in vein, but why not try it. I think all AddonSync users would totally love it if the "default servers list" contained all the major big mods that are out. This is a very "doable" idea. All we need is some rather speedy servers with lots of bandwidth and the cooperation of some of the bigger mods. "Putting it in AddonSync" does not mean you cannot release your mod in any other way, it's of course not mutually exclusive. The mayor benefits are: There is no need to maintain "patches", the tool can "make them" Users with problems have a means to do a full filebased check of their installation Have one place where you can just "click, download, go" (no more "looking" for patches, new versions, blabla) Reach a growing number of players that like the tool, in a uniform way so people don't have to be able to manually install stuff in various ways. Again all that would be needed for this to be successfull is Managers of mods that would like to give it a try. Some support for mirroring stuff to various bigger community sites or other hosters. A big enough userbase for the tool (I think it's growing anyway and see no big problem there).

Yoma 0 Posted November 25, 2009 Good to hear! :D I can personally host *some stuff* on a pretty immediate basis (up to about 4GB of data in total, won't be very fast). But we really need some "real" download sites to come into play for this to work.
