anessen 10 Posted November 22, 2009 Hello Long time OFP/ArmA1 player. In OFP and ArmA it was possible to assign a team via 9 then 1 to set team Red or what ever, then recall the selection using 9 - 9 - 1 then do what ever action. In ArmA 2 I can assign a team, but when I select a team the radio menu on the left goes back to the assign team section. Pressing backspace deselects the team. How is this supposed to work? Also, something I've always wondered, is it possible to respond to "Where are you?" when an AI is lost? It makes sense to me that he should need to know my position if I say something like "Return to formation", but once he's lost he's lost!
NeMeSiS 11 Posted November 22, 2009 Its just their way of telling you that they are far behind, you dont actually need to tell them where you are.
Ozz13 10 Posted November 22, 2009 If he's lost, or "where are you" distance away, you can target at your feet and hit "move there". Once he's in range of being able to see you it's possible to "regroup" him. ---------- Post added at 01:56 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:55 PM ---------- Its just their way of telling you that they are far behind, you dont actually need to tell them where you are. If you hit "regroup" and they say "where are you" they're unable to regroup. You do have to tell them where you are via a "move there" at your approximate location. You do have to tell them where you are via a "move there" at your approximate location. Only if they got stuck for some reason, and even then theyll only say 'where are you' when you are 250m away from them.

How is this supposed to work? Shift + number of one of the soldiers in the group; Ex: 3,4,5 and 6 are team Red. Press Shift + F3 or F4 etc.. to select them. If they're saying "where are you" because they are far behind they're saying it for a reason. They will continue to stay put till you answer their question by giving a move command. NeMeSiS 11 Posted November 22, 2009 If they're saying "where are you" because they are far behind they're saying it for a reason. And that reason is that they are more then 250m away from you without having special orders.
NoRailgunner 0 Posted November 22, 2009 If you really played OFP and ArmA for a long time you know how to deal with "Where are you?" ;)
code-red 0 Posted November 22, 2009 You do not have to tell your ai team where you are. They some how always know where you are, and if i remember correct this has been so since OFP. You ai team always walk straight back to you by them selves no matter how far you are away from them on the map.
