Difference Between A1 and A2?

Yeah, I noticed but I still prefer to have it on as it produces an atmosphere that really took me back to my infantry days! Its that realistic people! A2 really produced the level of realism that A1 lacked. A1 was still gamey in many aspects but A2, man, its like a movie! Most importantly, my machine seem to be able to run it on everything high without any problems! I am sold! Purchasing from sprocketidea now.

here in A2 explosions and fire effects are super

A1 is poor in effects

here you have modules in mission editor, very usefull for mission makers

and PKM has realistic model , hehe :D

a lot of civilians, animals etc.

very nice building destruction effects

since first days of watching A2 effects - i have no will to back to A1

concerning realism in config

BIS screwed some things

example:

AI range of fire of AKS74U is 600 meters while G36A 400 and M4 300 meters

total nonsense, AKSU is short barrel self defence weapon for crewman and here AI fires from further distance from AKSU than M4 or G36

if you will hit acurately by AKSU something 250 meters away - congratulations :)

in my opinion BIS should change such values, i made in my addons other ranges for AKSU, SVD etc. and i will be making other values in further addons

in real life SVD is marksman rifle, not sniper

in this game M40/M24 (scope 10x) was given 1000 meters max range while SVD (scope 4x like ACOG but on very poor mount) get 1300 m max

nonsense

SVD is used for 500-600 meters by soldiers with this scope and for few shots, cause fast loose calibration

Russians have SV98 sniper rifle, Poland has SAKO TRG

SVD is marksman rifle to support team fire distance, cause AK is effective (by its accuracy) to fight on 300-400 meters (by usual soldier skills)

other thing is DSHK on T72, has anyone ever seen DSHK on T72 ? on T64 ? it is like giving M1919 on Abrams

yes, there is still need for realism mods

Dont forget A2 has modules - oh sweet modules. :)

Being able to setup random massive WAR within 2 minutes is... great. Then there is all the other modules ofcourse.

But yeah - thats new as well. There is a lot of change over A1 even though its the "same" game. Wich i like personally. OFP1 - OFP DR is a change i very much dislike. I want my game series to have the same feel/style but with MORE of everything and looking better - wich ARMA2 is over ArmA1.

^... Totally agreed. :) But it looks like the armoury is missing from A2. :( I enjoyed armoury very much as a form of training with something to get at the end of every session.

there is armory in A2 , single player > island > editor or armory etc.

oh... ok, I need to explore more.

BTW : Bought and Installed!!! hahahha! Still need to complete my ArmA1 campaigns though...hahahaha still enjoying it as well. :)
