Oh my sh!"

Recommended Posts

:) I have been playing arma 1 and arma 2 for a while, and only tonight that i realised what an amazing simulation it is. I set up a civvi in editor mode in a random village at night. I had the weather on rain. I was listening to music while just walking around in the thunder, it is amazing how immersive the simulator is.. AMAZING,

Anyway sorry for that random post of how great the sim is,,,,,,,,,,

I agree with you, ArmA is totally a kickass game! :)

tho BIS should optimize it more so lower end users can play it too. I undersand the world is huge but 20 AI soldiers cause FPS to drop...

Anyways, I think MODs will lock this soon, since this should be in offtopic I guess.

Anyways, glad you like it :)

Î¥eah seriously, I don't see any serious stutter even when I really push it, so your pc must be a bit old for this game.

Sometimes when I get bored I do this:

Find an suitable area and place at least one of each type of group.

4 full infantry Bluefor squads (plus AA plus Corpsman), one of each type of motorized, one of each mechanized, four armor groups and all types of air groups.

I do the same for Opfor but I have them travelling from another point on the map towards the Bluefor "camp".

I also add two big triggers (one Bluefor 'not present' = Red Wins and one Oprfor 'not present' =Blue Wins)...

Then I sit back and enjoy the fireworks (thanks to JDT fire and smoke and Warfx particles and tracers). First the air units engage each other and then the tanks. The whole damn place soon goes up in flames, rockets all over, explosions fire and screaming.

The only times I suffer any kind of 'lag' or stutter is when the JDT fire and smoke addon acts up but still it's nothing my pc can't handle. Sometimes I help out but most of the time I let it play out to see what the balance is like.

Most of the time the incoming groups lose but in general the Opfor have an advantage.

I do similar stuff but i enjoy being a part of the war rather than on the side :D

Well i dont have a NASA computer exactly, but it can run crysis, FarCry2 etc on all at least normal/high. in ArmA2, 5 groups of infantry cause FPS to drop to 30 or less

Ohh no not the FarCry/Crysis comparison again :banghead:

I can place hundreds of units and still play fine, sure my fps drops with such amount of units but it's still running more than decently.

I dont get it, sure I used some.. very common comparison things, but they work with more than 40 FPS constantly, whereas ArmA2 FPS is going from 25-60, and I have no idea what causes this.

Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3Ghz

2Gb RAM

OS: Win Vista 32Bit (I know it sucks, sorry for that)

I have defragged all my drives, and tried gamebooster, not much better, maybe few FPS more.

Anyways, lets not turn this thread into my not so 1337 gaming righ discussion. :D
