BoonieRat 0 Posted November 17, 2001 IWil KA266-r, 1200(266)Athlon T/B, 512mb,Crucial 2100, LeadTek Gf2pro (225/480), 40gig IBM GPX60, window$98, I'm using beta1.29 @ the mo', but i was getting the same prob' with 1.20,and earlier with the SAW inaccuracy, my Rig has sofar passed Burn in Test 21, with flying colours, i dont think this is system instability, i can put the DDR~RAM at the lowest settings, makes no difference, and it has just started to lock up earlier 5-10 mins, and completely lock the system, (no Alt,Ctrl and Delete), where-as before it was just crashing to desktop, if you can help, i'd much apreciate it,
Slyman 0 Posted November 18, 2001 It happens to me as well, after about 2 hrs in mp I crash to desktop and opflash has completely shutdown and freed up memory . Used to happen on old rig as well ! Asus P4T-E P4 1.7 Elsa GF3 256rdram 512cable
suchey 0 Posted November 18, 2001 Dont know if this will help, but there is a problem with patching to 1.3 over the beta patches...it is best to completely remove OFP...reinstall...then apply patch 1.3 to 1.2. Hope this helps!
Unl33t 0 Posted November 18, 2001 Sounds like a wierd bug... probably related to some other program you have on. Dont install dodgy programs like warez/hacks and stuff... they are DODGY and cause s**t you dont know about
daniel barnett 0 Posted November 18, 2001 did you no that add ons can cause fade?
RN Malboeuf 12 Posted November 18, 2001 WHAT! no Addons dont cause fade, no this is not a FADE problem, no he's not using 1.30 so why post that 1.30 can cause problems when he's using 1.29b, the 1.30 problem does not cause crashes, it causes certain weapons to not show up NOW does your ASUS mother boards have the VIA chip sets, you will have to upgrade to VIA's 4in1s 3.25 if you have a VIA chip set Vagabond: what MB do you have, your clock spped tells me nothing BoonieRat: What is this SAW your talking bout (Semi Automanice Weapon?) FADE will start if you have a NO CD Crack in use, or you have played online with some that has used you CD to play as well (or LAN) Fade does not cause crashes, it will make ANY shot you make inacurate over time with more Illegal abuse of OFP it will disconect you from MP, it basically make the game playable but not playable to piss you off (Edited by RN Malboeuf at 9:15 am on Nov. 25, 2001)
BoonieRat 0 Posted November 19, 2001 I dont have a VIA chipset, i've an ALi one, i dont use/run any other proggie when gameing, i dont use add~ons or illegal games/cracks or whatever, it happens in single player, SAW= Squad Automatic Weapon,ie., a machine~gun,M60, if its not a fade thing, why is the M60/SAW so unaccurate?,is it like the sniper rifle?, do you have to aim above the target?,to allow for bullet drop depending on the distance?, wheres the aiming point?, is it at the top of the front sight~post?,like the M16?, And please, none of this, "in the real world ,Blah,Blah,Blah",crap!!, its the game i'm interested in!!, ,and sorting out how to play it proper' thanx for your input peeps! RN Malboeuf 12 Posted November 25, 2001 ok lets get back to basics IWil KA266-r, 1200(266)Athlon T/B, 512mb,Crucial 2100, LeadTek Gf2pro (225/480), 40gig IBM GPX60, window$98, these are the latest Vid drivers? what about your sound, some cards cause conflicts Ali may have a chip set patch you can find one in my siggy under the drivers link what are you looking at when you crash? Choppers? 3rd person mode? is it random with no vehicles? this will help rule out certain vid crashes have done a total install (ie totally delete the OFP folder (addons MUST go) and then reinstall and then patch? BoonieRat 0 Posted November 26, 2001 It's totaly random, (from what i can remember;) ),but mainly i play in 1st person mode, so the chances are its in that it crashes.i've got the latest non~beta Nvidia drivers. Sound bastards DO have an issue with VIA chipsets, but sofar ALi have been OK with them, i never installed all the 'live' crap, cause its a right registry wrecker!,i'm using the 1.80 ALi AGP/northbridge driver, they've releaseda 1.82 ver' , but i'm having trouble connecting to any of their download sites. the mobo BIOS is the latest as well. it crashes whether its O/clocked or all default with conservative/failsafe mem' settings, i'd really appreciate any input/answers to this prob', i know it's not easy cause everyone has different rigs, but it does seem to be a common problem, thanx ,.... tontonje 0 Posted November 26, 2001 I had this kind of problem. The problem : the order by SDRAM modules where installed in the memory banks. After several tries, i found the right order to install my ram and now OFP runs with no problem... Arrgh ! no, just a last problem. I've noticed that OFP is very sensible to FSB overclocking.
