A herc would be nice.. accept for the dim fact that the purpose would be to drop a large amount of troops or vehicles.. and since you can only control 12 soldier including yourself in your unit. Whats the point??

I'd like to see some sort of plane that can land in the water.. etc. As those of you experinced with OF know, choppers float But when you turn off their engine, they sink.. yet you won't die unless you disembark. But a water plane would be cool I think...

So? the Chinook is 24 men capapbilities, 2 groups, so why not have 5 groups or 6 in a Herc?

Well, I don't like the fact that you can only transport infantry in a Cessna, and even then only three men and the pilot.

Could the engine support something the size of a C-130?

Anyway I just had a thought, If a Herc' is too big, we could get a Dakota (can't rember the designation). I think it would be better for dropping smaller units (ie 12men).

Looks like the "in favor" percentage went up five points since I was last here. Good to see. If this does go down. I hope that there will be an ability to jump both ramp and doors. Or at least a ramp that opens and closes. The ramp on the C-130 in DF2 is stuck open and looks really dumb when it is flying. Also, whoever decides to take on this project would have to make sure that the inside of the cargo bay is accurate, along with the "crew chief's seat" (toilet). This thing is basically a box on a platform. (It is extremely difficult to piss on a C-130 becuase of the turbulance). Talk about no privacy it is just out in the open. Although I have seen some that have a wrap around curtain. C-141's are much nicer, they have a commercial airliner style latrine. If anyone decides to undertake this project, let me know I will do anything to help.

ah, a fellow DF2 player?? I will never get tired of the games.. for all it's faults.. I've had too much fun.

As for th C-130, I'd still like to see it in OF... but in DF2.. all they were good for is A&D... I mean, the damned things would just float in space.. thats it!!

I hate to break it to you kiddies, but regardless of how many threads you start on the same topic, BIS will not add the C-130.

First I doubt they'll release any additional unit addons to OF, but even if they do, trust me, the C-130 will not be one of them.

Don't ask me how I know, I just do.

So good luck finding a decent 3rd party designer because let me tell ya, making a well designed, textured and well handling C-130 into the game is no small task : )

I would like a C-130 ingame;

it´s big, yes, but also slow, has comparable takeoff-Landing distances to the A-10 and can deploy lots of troops or supplies, also in NOE flying.

Every thread I look at it seems you post something that cuts someone down, ridicules thier ideas, or you make some snide remark. What's the problem? I thought the whole point of having forums was to make one giant think tank for new ideas.
