mk4umha 0 Posted November 3, 2009 Are Arma2 map the same size as OFP1 maps? It seems like OFP1 had more types of terrians and islands that I liked.
TankCommander 3 Posted November 3, 2009 Arma2 is generally bigger. It's difficult to compare as OFP is so old now and the Arma2 map is by far more detailed in every way.
EDcase 87 Posted November 3, 2009 ARMA2 maps can be much larger than OFP but the design is up to the maker. I agree that I find Chernarus very uniform in terrain type but there are quite a few others maps which can be downloaded.

Keep in mind that all the missions are played on the same map, the same larger landscape. Most however are made to take place in only the same small parts of it. Much of the map is rarely used, the terrain variety is not used that well yet in user made missions.
CarlGustaffa 4 Posted November 5, 2009 Well, I find the Chernarus map a bit hard to use for missions. Finding good spots to exploit the landscape is often made impossible due to elevated terrain having trees blocking the view that would have made a hill a good defenseive position. -=seany=- 5 Posted November 5, 2009 would be sweet if you could delete trees in the editor.
