EricM 0 Posted October 28, 2009 (edited) For those into indie game making, Unity has released a free version of it's very nice cross-platform (PC/MAC/Wii/IPhone) game development software. www.unity3D.com Try the Tropical Island live demo to see for yourself. It's very high quality! Actually, it looks like a mini farcry... Edited October 29, 2009 by EricM

Hans Ludwig 0 Posted October 28, 2009 Does it come with SDK? If so, could you play around with it to see if you could turn WWIIONLINE from a bowl of crap to OFP/Arma wow factor?
Maddmatt 1 Posted October 29, 2009 (edited) Is there a list of games that use this engine? I'm curious because I want to see what it can really do. Wish I had the time to toy with these things. Maybe I'll download it and play around when I can. Edit: Thanks, found it. Hidden under "Gallery". Some broken links there... It is an SDK :-) Large scale streaming terrains will hardly be possible with Unity. You can create fractal rendered terrain but this comes with logical limitations. Whoopie...2.6 is out. Iphone Unity is not included with Unity Pro Version afaik and has to be licensed separately. Still I´ve done 3 projects so far with Untiy 2.5 Pro and it really rocks for the price you have to pay. Compared to other 3d engines the workflow is much, much faster and the bang for the buck you get is incredible...if you are aware of the limitations. I´m off to check the new version :)

celery 8 Posted October 29, 2009 I'd be grateful if someone posted a direct download link/mirror, because the official page is being a bitch to me. :(
