Guest Posted March 30, 2002 A pity you can't freely move on the boat. That's about the only thing i would change in OF (means also to be able to shoot out of the car/boat). I you've seen Apocalypse Now!, you would probably like the Mark II PBR more. (So watch it, pretty long but cool!
Relg 0 Posted March 30, 2002 being able to move around inside vehicles like the chinnok and the various ships would be one of this nicest additions you could make to the game
USSoldier11B 0 Posted March 30, 2002 I agree that it would be cool to able to move around inside of larger vehicles. So that you could fire out of them etc. A hovercraft would be cool. I was kind of dissapointed that the LST is not more functional. I tried to land a helo on the pad in the rear. Obviously that didn't turn out too well. USSoldier11B 0 Posted March 30, 2002 Nope. It's just rubber, Kevlar would be too heavy and expensive. A kevlar helmet in the U.S. will run you about $150-175 surplus. About $300 new.

Wobble 1 Posted March 31, 2002 You shouldn't, not if you had a weapon that is. I wonder if it would make a big difference on the performance of the craft if you filled the air-skirt full of holes, or is the skirt made from kevlar? Anyone know? actually its overpressured so much that it would take many thousands of rounds of small arms fire to put enough holes in the rubber to hinder its performance.. its not a balloon.. but insted a dual alyer rubber skirt with GIANT fans blowing down into it.. also there are several layers of rubber and they creat the same sort of effect the self sealing fuel tanks of WW2 fighters did.. if the rubber gets shot through there is a good chance that due to the layering of the skirting that it would flap over the hole to a degree.. anywho.. those things are not really made for landing on a congested beachhead I.E. normandy anyway..
