So I have a computer running:

A Intel Pentium 4 3.4 GHZ Process

A Radeon 9500 1GB Video Card

3 Gigs of RAM

Windows Vista Ultimate

and more than enough HDD Space

My only concern is my processor....is my processor good enough to run Arma II?

See that's what I am confused about...the system requirements say that Dual Core (Intel Pentium 4 3.0 GHz is what you need....which confuses me because Pentium 4 processors aren't dual core...

yes, actually - the Pentium D is a dual core. They just weren't that popular because the Core 2 Duo's came out shortly after

Actually the Pentium D is a dual core processor based on the Pentium 4....it's part of the Pentium 4 Processor line. The Pentium 4 was the Pentium's last line of single core processors....

Pentium 4 is only single core however the game doesn't require a dual core processor. they only say that because it's the norm now. Download the demo and try it, it can't hurt. I think your video card will be an issue though.

id definitely say get a real good cpu. this game relies more on that then the video card.

Your vid card is a little lacking for Arma 2 as well. It'll run it, just not great, especially at higher resolutions.

What's wrong with my video card?

It's very old.

Your video card is rubbish. It's as big a problem as your CPU.

It's ancient. Well below the minimum requirements.

Use http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html as a basic guide to video card strength. Your ATI 9500 is wayyyyy down the list. It has about half the strength of the video card of my laptop. I get about 20 fps on average in ARMAII, medium settings.

you get 20 fps on medium settings on a laptop?? what kind of laptop do you have?

i thought like 95%+ laptops couldnt even run arma 2.

O_O wow, thats awesome to hear.

it seems arma2 can run well on systems with much lower specs than a lot of people think, i guess because it is so incredibly intensive depending on what settings you use and the situation.
