77scout 10 Posted October 11, 2009 I cannot get the laser designator to work. I have needed to use it in both the Village Sweep scenario or the Into The Storm part of the campaign and had no luck turning the red dot on either time. A search of the forum has not helped. Here is what happens... I select the laser designator with the mouse wheel, the designator comes up fine and I am able to look through the sight, but I cannot get the red dot to turn on. I think it should just be a simple left or right click, but that doesn't do anything, neither does any other key or control seem to activate it (I have tried all i could think of). It is not a lack of batteries...I do have the battery in my 'gear'. Am I doing something wrong or is my install possibly messed up somehow? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Callsign 128 Posted October 11, 2009 make a test mission in the editor, make yourself an FAC unit (Force recon guys) then put an enemy tank somewhere near you, then have an A10 flying above you, if your laser designator is working when you target the tank and press fire (default left mouse click) the A10 should engage the laser'ed tank. Alternatively, group your unit with the A10 so you can make him engage the laser target. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

nukey 10 Posted October 11, 2009 Not sure if this is any help, but you must use laser as you explained. Then use your radio to call in the air strike, artillery. it does take a while for it to happen though. I think its num 0 on your keyboard.... hidden sniper 10 Posted October 12, 2009 I think after the last patch you can not see the laser dot or or the green circle in any difficulty modes above regular. Still, seems weird; how are you supposed to know if it is off or on? In campaign mission 'Into The Storm' when I call the airstrike on the house and tanks the Razor leader keeps telling me he sees no laser and asks if I have it turned on. Hmmm. 77scout 10 Posted October 12, 2009 Confirmed. I get the red dot and green circle if i switch to 'regular', but on 'expert' there is neither. Left click turns it on, you just get no feedback that it is on. So I guess the trick is don't click more than once or you have no idea if it is off or on. Thanks Hidden Sniper...you saved my sanity!
