mpatton 10 Posted October 9, 2009 (edited) Ever seen the show "Special Ops Mission" on the Military channel? Well this mission was inspired by an episode of said show. This is a single player only mission, one man, three objectives. See the briefing for details. 7z (compressed) File:http://www.filefactory.com/file/a0f3362/n/Whiskey-Whiskey_utes_pbo_7z PBO (non-compressed) File: http://www.filefactory.com/file/a0f3366/n/Whiskey-Whiskey_utes_pbo Just scroll to the bottom of the page to download the file. Armaholic coming soon. Note: If you get in the RHIB to be used by you for extraction and sail away, yes, the mission will complete. You could by all means do that and finish the mission within 3 minutes, but is that really any fun? Also, be sure to move the RHIB into the marked extraction zone for the mission to end. It's fairly large so I don't expect any issues, but I thought I should point that out. Have fun and leave feedback! EDIT: Armaholic mirror added: Whiskey-Whiskey Armed Assault.Info mirror is right below this post. Edited October 10, 2009 by mpatton

dissaifer 10 Posted October 11, 2009 I have seen the show and downloaded the mission. It's pretty hard to play as a one man army. I like that bit right at the beginning where you see the target... nice. Keep it up:)
mpatton 10 Posted October 11, 2009 Good! Thanks for the encouragement!
Spindry69 0 Posted October 12, 2009 Thanks I enjoyed this mission, it was nice not having to worry about ai team mates for a change. Possibly more enemy guard cheque points would make it more challenging.
dissaifer 10 Posted October 13, 2009 It appears there is a bug... when I fired down my clips once I get to 2... I always have 2. I am not sure if this in intended : The main base has holes in the back wall which you can slip through
mpatton 10 Posted October 13, 2009 ? Your bug makes no sense to me...I'll look into it. For your spoiler, no it wasn't really intended but I'm contemplating leaving it in or not. I've found it pretty useful actually...
dissaifer 10 Posted October 13, 2009 basically you have infinite ammo is the bug.
mpatton 10 Posted October 13, 2009 Well I understood what it meant, I just don't understand why that would happen.
mpatton 10 Posted October 14, 2009 @Dissaifer I wasn't able to recreate your bug on my end. You do know that if you reload a magazine that isn't empty, it won't decrease your magazine count correct? And from then on you'll keep loading your most full mag. ex. You are about to reload a 15 round magazine, you have 4 total, so your HUD is 15|4. You reload, it changes to 30|4. Until at least one magazine is empty, that 4 will stay a 4. Maybe you're misinterpreting that?
telo 10 Posted October 15, 2009 Fun mission. I died the first 2 times because I tried to rush it and also because I didn't pay attention to what weapon I had... When I realised you gave us a sniper rifle, I took it slower and picked them all off from a distance and it was all good from there. I also stole a vehicle which made the rest of the mission quite easy. I think you could add to this some more. I killed the senior guy in the village where you look for weapons, so I achieved 2 of the 3 objectives right at the start. Then I went to the airport in the truck with the gun on the back, and I saw about 6 guys walking near the runway. I capped them all with the gun on the truck and then that was it. All I needed to do was satchel the HQ and head back. I think maybe there should be more to do at the airport instead of just kill 6 guys and place the charges. Also, when sniping the guys at the beginning, the movement of the enemies in my scope was extremely choppy. They were stuttering when it was running. I've never seen that happen before, online or even in the single player campaign. Fun mission though.
dissaifer 10 Posted October 15, 2009 mpatton I think you're right. I might have misread it and switched the clip for safety. np :)
khugan 24 Posted October 22, 2009 M. Patton I thoroughly enjoyed this mission. Please continue! This is the best SP mission I have played since the first mission of Harvest Red. All the other SP missions I have down loaded are just WAY over done and are more frustrating than fun. Everything about this mission flowed perfectly. Do you have anything else in the works? Any other releases? Thanks, Khugan

yanquis 10 Posted October 28, 2009 this was a lot of fun, coming to the village to recon the weapons i got in the watchtower of an abandoned base and the first thing i see is my target in a jeep with his escort, decided to cap him right then even though i really didnt have the rifle to do it at that range...he ended up crawling for cover and i had to empty the clip to finish him off. :D it all felt very 'real' so i am glad you put that scripting in that makes him mobile, i assume that was just chance that he was there at that time! i got the choppy movement thru the scope as well though, however ive been noticing that lately in other missions. mpatton 10 Posted October 29, 2009 @Khugan: Glad you enjoyed it! As a matter of fact I have another mission in the works...but I can't reveal too much of it yet ; ) @yanquis: You got lucky then huh? Good timing. As far as it being chance, yes and no, he does have a set route that you COULD memorize if you played the mission enough. Im wondering if the choppyness could be caused by the amount of units I have it Strelka wandering along. Although there's really not THAT many people, it could be playing a factor. Uziyahu--IDF 0 Posted February 6, 2011 The choppiness appears to be the reintroduction of a "bug" (or, at least, inadequacy) in the coding of distant A.I. B.I. fixed this and now it appears to be back. Very frustrating when sniping!
