Lan Problems.

Recommended Posts

Ok guys heres the thing. Got a mate round the other day for a LAN session. No other problems except one. If I made a mission and I am the host, all is well. Very smooth no probs. BUT... Who ever is not hosting experiences a kind of lag. Not FPS lag but jerky movement of troops and vehicles. Is there a fix for this kind of thing? HP

I haven't noticed it myself, try disabling Post processing on both machines.

Post proccessing is off on both machines. Could it be the network chips? or the fact that I use XP and he uses Vista?

If you were playing Domination, you will get odd results. You need a dedicated host for that.

Never played via lan, so I can't offer any advice. Is it jerky on the host or both?

The host always has no problems. Its the other PC that has the jerky units..

This is generally a problem with Arma2. You'll be better off running the dedicated server exe in parallel with the game. That way you can configure the network bandwidth usage and other parameters as explained here.
