Arma-2-Guru 55 Posted September 25, 2009 I've noticed a bad framerate drop in some cities such as Chernogorsk, I've got my GFX settings at a good balance now though.
brit~XR 0 Posted September 25, 2009 Well my core i7 920 not overclocked and gtx 275 runs fine on big missions like warfare in the big citys so i cant see how overclocking to 3.0ghz would fix it. Maybe try lowering your video settings first
MQ-9 Reaper 10 Posted September 25, 2009 I think the latest patchs have improved the performance. If you are struggling to get decent fps on Chernarus, you can disable anti aliasing, post process and shadows in the video options. The following mods have also helped improve my framerate : - Vegetation Tweak Visuals + Buildings Tweak Visuals : here - GTD mod grass : here (Useful tool : FPS counter by Deadfast here)

jw custom 56 Posted September 25, 2009 Yeah, so I bought this game when it first came out only to hop on and find out when you enter a big city it's almost unplayable. I got a i7 920 and GTX 280. I got i7 920(running at stock speed) and GTX 285 and never had any real issues that couldn't be overcomed by tweaking video settings! Remember lower video settings is not always equal better performance with ArmA2... weird but that what i've learned so far ;) To your question: Yes in my opinion it's running smoother now and i feel that with the new nvidia beta 191.03 it's even better, but i haven't had time to test if there's a boost in fps.... maybe it's all in my head :p But it runs fine for me, just right before writing this post i tested a mission i'm in progress making and it's placed in Chernogorsk with a large number of enemy soldiers and vehicles and it runs without any problems :)
