Symptoms of FADE

I'm experiencing strange behavior of ARMA 2 in the last mission ("Dogs of War") which makes the gameplay annoying and very frustrating.

In particular:

- I cannot use team switch to move stuck units aside.

- Night vision goggles are VERY dark, in fact they do not even amplify the light on the surrounding terrain at all (increasing gamma through the graphic drivers reveals that the terrain is not just very dark but in fact completely black).

- Unit selection in "high command" is delayed by at least 10 to 16 seconds on the map. Acknowledging the order sometimes takes even 20s from the click until the waypoint is set.

- The player character ALWAYS dies from a single bullet sitting in a chopper at a distance of 900m. Again, there is a delay of at least 10s between the hit and the character actually dying.

- While fast travelling, I can hear sounds of chicken and goats.

All those problems vanish when I host a MP game w/ the same mission.

The machine running Arma 2 is a QuadCore w/ 4G RAM + NV 8800 GTS.

Are those all symptoms of FADE kicking in? Because that's very frustrating with a game legally bought through Steam.

Someone else on this forum (who also got the game through Steam) described problems with increased bullet spread since v1.04, which is clearly FADE.

Could this be a consequence of me using the 'endmission' cheat on the previous mission ('Badlands') where the campaign script was stuck after having achieved all tasks (even defending the village)?

None of these symptoms are FADE related. NVGoggles can be very dark in certain lightning conditions, the same problem we had in ArmA1. The only strange thing seems the player dying in the chopper. Everything else is either by design (teamswitch) or a game or mission bug.

Also, the buy weapons/units menu appears after a very long delay (of ~20s).

In the SP mission "War welcome" enemy units keep respawning in front of me every two seconds after getting killed. I heavily doubt that all those things are meant to happen with a legit copy of Arma 2.

Please don't tell me this is how the developers wanted it to look like.

Try shooting at a wall 1 meter away with a pistol. If the bullets go all over the place, Fade has been triggered.
