Can't you use the MG36 100 round drum mag like with the M16s?

The XM8 does accept the same drum magazines as the G36, although not visible - you still see if it had the 30 round clip magazine on, even if you have the drum magazine reloaded.

Edit: But there's also a model called "XM8 Automatic Rifle", which has the drum magazine modeled on.

Yes, the MG36 drum works on the XM8SAW... Its one of the most flexible and effective weapons in the game, not often seen though.

I was real excited about those when I was in the Army. Really wanted to get my hands on one but then I heard they canceled the program because contractors bitched about not being allowed to put up their own weapon to compete. Still its the kind of weapon the Army needs. Less fouling, modular, light weight. The m68 built in and back up irons on every weapon are excellent. Really wish this weapon was fully supported in game, its a cool idea.

how do you mean "fully supported" ? i dont believe theres any part that doesnt work, other than the 100 round drum mags not displaying when you use them....

Remember that point of impact should shift alot when it gets hot and it should blow up(casehead separation) every 6000 rounds aprox.

Well you have to be prone with it to be the least bit effective with it. Also you ahve to drag the mouse down a tiny bit when shooting because of recoil.

But when you do that, it's an awesome weapon with very high rate of fire and you can hit targets very far away. But the magazine is tiny so 100 bullets would be WAY better suited for it.

I use the XM8 with GL and MG36 mags. 100 rounds, scope, 3 firing modes = awesome.
