Cionara 10 Posted September 6, 2009 Interesting =P Just yesterday I hurt my hand badly and got that effect in real life. Good job =)
xclusiv8 10 Posted September 6, 2009 Not bad but i find this mod to be really really annoying. It kinda gives me headaches.
Apouh 0 Posted September 6, 2009 @xclusiv8 The fx appears when a bullet fly close to you (< 15m). So it's not recurrent. It's just when you are under fire not when a friend shoot close to you. We use this since 2 months with my team and we like it :)
Mcpl-Ripcord 0 Posted September 6, 2009 nice idea... from a game play standpoint, since some type of indicator is better then none but. I don't remember my vision blurring or blacking out when taking incoming fire. it isn't something you can visually replicate, as it isn't visually impairing it's more a over heightened sense of your surroundings. sorry I guess this doesn't help. perhaps a better way would be to have a small translucent white rim around the screen and have everything inside it become more saturated with color when rounds strike or zip close by ...kinda like a white out (almost a light headed effect) if you over exert yourself or stub your toe, blackout is the opposite of the effect I am thinking about..but even a white out isn't accurate, but it is more accurate then blackout..it is very subtle..sorry now I'm just rambling, it is a hard thing to describe and even harder to visually simulate. Alex72 1 Posted September 6, 2009 Ofcourse you cant reproduce this perfectly... But this is as good as it gets. Blackouts can be eye squinting in real life. And the blur represent loss of concetration. Superb.
Apouh 0 Posted September 6, 2009 @Mcpl-Ripcord I understand 4/5, cause my english is not so good^^ I didn't try to make the true vision of the battlefield but an effect who tell you "hey guy, this bullet was f***ing close". It's a simulation of stress not of the real vision. You have a similar system in vbs2 with a white flash and peripheral distortion. Give it a try ;) Your comments are welcome and sorry if i can't explain myself very well.
Cionara 10 Posted September 6, 2009 I think it doesn't work when getting shot by a vehicle. Placed a Humvee with m240/m2 in front of me. Made it shoot at me but no blur or fading black =(
Apouh 0 Posted September 6, 2009 You're right. I work on it and make some test with white flash. Update coming soon.
