Fn minimi or m-249 saw

Recommended Posts

You bet it did! smile.gif

Cool that you've operated the real thing - I'll make a beta before release, so I can hear what you people who have actually used it has to say!

I don't know if anyone has brought this up but:

The iron sights on the M249 should be a 'V' or a semi-circle.

Most of the M249's that I've fired had this. It's because when you aim, you should bring the sights a little lower than the target. Once you fire, the recoil will raise the gun up to the target itself.

Just a suggestion.

http://world.guns.ru/machine/mg17-e.htm

It seems to be totally incorrect on several specs. It says 1000 rpm (cyclic), while fas.org says 725 rpm.

I assume fas.org is correct...<span id='postcolor'>

Well Janes Gun Recognition Guide rekons it is 750 rpm cyclic rate...but as Assualt has pointed out it varies with carbon build up.

Here's two tests of the current SAW sound.

It's tricky to get all the details like belt-feed, etc, into such a short sound. The belt should be slightly audible in these tests and furthermore I will magnify the "catridge-hits-ground" sound, to sound more like Humvee13's sample file. That should add a deal too.

Let me know what you think (it's not nessecarily the final sound) wink.gif

File1 is short bursts:

File2 is a single mag from start to finish:

Sorry for big file size. I'm a slut regarding compression tounge.gif

I've been testing it in action for a bit now, and I think it works pretty good. It still needs a model, which it won't get before a certain tool is available, as those hacked demo weapons work like crap. But I can still release the weapon in beta form, to get the weapon fine-tuned as well as provide some fun until that certain tool might become available. tounge.gif

I'll post it here very vey very soon!
