fatty86 10 Posted August 29, 2009 Hi, I could not find anything with search but forgive me if this has been suggested before. I would like to see a toggle option somewhere on the map view to disable map textures when in close zoom. While the textures look nice and the transition when zooming is smooth and a nice feature, the textures sometimes obscure the terrain lines and elevation height numbers. As you zoom out the textures fade but so do the terrain lines. IIRC there was a toggle feature in ArmA1. The option could be placed on the map menu in the upper left corner or in any other corner of the map. I would even settle for a hidden config value that I could change to disable textures completely. Thanks and keep up the good work.
no use for a name 0 Posted August 29, 2009 yeah I agree it makes it hard to see elevations since the numbers tend to blend in. Don't know why they got rid of it. I think it was posted a looong time ago but I'm sure the old thread got buried
ceeeb 147 Posted August 29, 2009 I agree, while nice the textures obscures the information the map provides (place names, etc)
-=seany=- 5 Posted August 30, 2009 It would be a nice option, I'm sure it would make map usage more fluid too. I have noticed occasionally that the textures take a moment to load.

EDcase 87 Posted September 9, 2009 I agree. There should be an option to turn off map textures.
