Stop scanning?

Hi!

I told the gunner and commander of my T72 (which I drive, because they can't simply use roads) to "scan horizon".

Now they do that all the time. I even told them to disembark etc. As soon as they get back in they scan for threats. This is very annoying, especially when I drive in close areas (because of the barrel) and especially especially at night, when I need the main light on the road.

How can I tell them to stop and return to their regular behaviour?

press alt and and then left mouse button on a place you want him to look,

or try engage at will

or shoot him or both and make one man show and take whole Army's like Rambo, you know since arma 2 tanks can fly and ramming a mi 8 in midair come thru^^

Wow thanks, it was so frustrating for me to see the stupid gunner/comander look in some weird direction half the time.

Unit No Target (2-1)

Doesn't help against "Scan horizon" because they don't target anything, they just watch (I tried).

Solution: Alt+LMB onto the tank orders them to "Watch that tank" (Their own tank, mind you). This releases the scan horizon command and lets them act as usual.

Thanks for that! Happened to me a few times as well and was quite clueless as of how to solve it. Just ordered them to watch the most relevant direction as a make-shift solution. A proper one was really welcome :)

Mostly because it doesn't have quick-search functionality. :)

(+ I just looked into it and couldn't find this particular information.)

Edit: I just realized that there is a pdf manual on the disc, which allows for quick-search. Still no luck with this topic. So forum pwns manual. :D

I've actually been looking in the manual, but I didn't realize that (as on page 41 in the 505 Games paper manual) 'To watch in a certain direction or to watch a unit, vehicle or object if you click while holding left Alt' was synonymous to 'Stop the Scanning action and return to normal behaviour if watching your own vehicle and clicking while holding left Alt' ;)
