How is the best way to start playing MP?

I randomly tried some MP-games today, but this thing is really confusing. First of all, almost all games where "Use ten minutes to get to the fight, then 10 seconds to die" and so on. Simply boring. And everything seem so complex.

Any secret to what type of games I should start with?

Well one thing A lot of Servers Host is Domination. Its a Co-Op Game mode where everyone is on the same team and the objective is to capture 10 Towns. On your map the town that needs to be taken is marked with a red Circle on it. Now your main objective is that town and you need to clear it of Any Enemies. (Armor,Infantry,etc) Also All the enemies are contained within that red circle so you don't have to worry about some random enemy wandering way off in the middle of nowhere to capture the town.

That is pretty much domination in a nutshell, However I recommend you try hooking up with a squad down in the Squad/fan page recruitment forum. Playing with people you know makes the game a billion times more fun than playing with complete strangers in the same boat as you.

Preferences are always subjective of course, but in my opinion arma is most easily enjoyed with 3-5 player coop - with the same people every time.

No matter what your preference is though, join a squad that shares your preference and plays when you play. That's the usual advice, and I think it's good.

If you go join some evolution or domination server my best advice is to try find someone who seems to know what he/she is doing and then follow him/her around.

It's also a good thing if the server is using revive script which makes teamwork and gameplay much better and you don't have to travel half the map around to get to the hot zone everytime you die as theres almost always a friendly soul that will revive you :)

Chernarus Life

They give a totally wrong impression of what ArmA II is like. Unfortunately, most people seem to like playing them. Guess that's because they're so similar to other games...

Well i had the same opinion until tonight, man we had some brilliant teamwork. Heli inserting us to battle and extracting us when a city was taken etc. it was amazing. Everybody was helping each other and constantly communicating :cool:

I find it also hard to start playing on MP half of the servers have no map the good ones as everyone says (old farts etc) are always empty or 300+ ping Heh but its good that ya find a good server to play on =p

Jump on some coop, or as JW said, find some good dudes to communicate with while you play for the other modes,etc..
