superjude_13 10 Posted August 13, 2009 Hi all quick question as im a bit thick ive downloded the FFAA weapons mod and followed the instructions to load it with the short cut ect. but how do i access the weapons in game? I assumed you could use the mods within the single player campain but maybe im wrong? Ive got to the Manahattan mission and have access to all the extra weapons in the crates but would rather use the FFAA weapons. Any help would be appreciated Cheers
Dmahon 10 Posted August 13, 2009 Go into the unit spawn menu thingy, go into the "Empty" section, then into the "Ammo" section and there should be an FFAA ammo box in there somewhere ;)
superjude_13 10 Posted August 13, 2009 so i do i have to use the editor to edit the mission to include the ffaa stuff? or is the unit spawn thingy a console command whilst playing?
STALKERGB 6 Posted August 13, 2009 yeah with most mods you will find that the only access to them is in the editor, if they mod comes with a campaign then even better, most dont though. Replacement packs also allow stuff to be used in the BIS campaign, an example of this would be using defferent models in place of the force recon units. Obviously, doing this meant that it is replacing the original content rather than supplementing it. And yeah, in theory, you could edit the mission in the editor to add in the FFAA weapon crates. R0adki11 3949 Posted August 14, 2009 You cant directly add Mods to the campaign as each mission would have to be edited to include the new parts of the mod.
STALKERGB 6 Posted August 14, 2009 @superjude_13, you would need to go into the campaigns folder in the ARMA 2 directory, (not sure of the exact pathname atm) you would have to extract the campaign using CPBO or Eliteness (so you can view the files), then find the mission you want to edit and put it in your "My Missions" or whatever the in game editor saves missions for the editor in (will be in your my documents profile somewhere). PTV-Jobo 821 Posted August 15, 2009 Yeah Stalker is right. You can go into your main ARMA2 Addons folder and find "missions.pbo" and de-PBO is using above mentioned utilities and place the missions into your missions folder located at: "\Documents\ArmA 2\missions" (I'm on Vista 64bit so that's where mine is..not sure what you have). Just be careful if you try deleting anything in the editor--I tried opening the Manhattan one I believe--where you have that nifty lil' FOB on that hill you report at. I wanted to cut and paste that into my own mission to use, but when I deleted everything except anything on that hill where the FOB was built on, it was still empty. So just be careful if you do any removing. ;)
