benzilla04 10 Posted August 12, 2009 Help, i have been download a few addons and i have put them in the addons folder. but they are not in game  what am i doing wrong?
EDcase 87 Posted August 12, 2009 (edited) Hi Ben, First remove everything you added to addons folder. For each addon: Make a folder called @name (name can be anything) Make a folder inside called addons Put the addon files in there. Edit your Arma shortcut by right-click on the icon and select Properties (note: must be shortcut not original exe) The command line should look something like: C:\Games\ArmA2\arma2.exe -nosplash -world=empty -mod=@name;@name2;@name3 _____^Arma location^_______^skip loadscreens ___________________________________^Loads faster ______________________________________________^mod folders in list separated by ; Its harder to explain than to actually do it so have fun... Alex72 1 Posted August 12, 2009 (edited) Get the ARMALAUNCH1.2 If a mod comes looking like this @this_is_the_mod_folder then just drag or copy it into the ARMA2 root directory. If its not like that then make a new folder in the same place calling it @mod_name and make another folder inside that called Addons <- VERY IMPORTANT! And copy/move all files in there. Then start the launcher and it FINDS them, and you just have to click a button underneith the addons window and add whatever addons you need. Then save it and GO. 1. Start the launcher 2. Click CREATE NEW FAVOURITE (bottom middle kinda). Name your new profile. 3. Click any addon on the right (addon window) and click ACTIVATE SELECTED MOD (button underneith the addon window) - repeat with all addons you need. 4. Click COMMAND LIST and add -NOSPLASH and what you need more. 5. Click SAVE FAVOURITE. 6. Done! Now choose your fresh made profile in the left window. And hit LAUNCH ARMA Alex Edited August 12, 2009 by Alex72
ck-claw 1 Posted August 12, 2009 Find your 'arma2.exe' in the arma2 directory. Right click and select 'create shortcut' Drag shortcut to desktop. Now 'right click' the shortcut and select 'Properties'. Now at the top there will be a box called 'Target:' At the end of that, will look something like:- "D:\Bohemia Interactive\arma2.exe" Add to the end of it:- -mod=@thenameofyourmodfolder So will look like this:- "D:\Bohemia Interactive\arma2.exe" -mod=@thenameofyourmodfolder Edit:- As Alex says there are some handy 'ArmA Launchers' out there that does most if not all the work for you! EDcase 87 Posted August 12, 2009 You have to make a shortcut of the ArmA2.exe Just right-click on it and you get the option "create shortcut" Then you'll be able to edit the command line
benzilla04 10 Posted August 12, 2009 I could already change command line, Arma2 Launcher does not recongnize addons.
ck-claw 1 Posted August 12, 2009 Hmm-not really sure where your going wrong then? I've not used that launcher, here is the one i use!
Planck 1 Posted August 12, 2009 Make sure you aren't putting rar or zip files in your mod folder, the addons need to be extracted from those. The PBO files go in the mod folder. Planck
kozzy420 21 Posted August 12, 2009 Yeah, all i did was UNPACK the rar files and place the PBO files in the MISSION folder for ARMA2. As PLanck said above me.
benzilla04 10 Posted August 12, 2009 I have extracted, say i downloaded a "F16" i would extract to arma2 addons directory then create a folder called "@F16 then a fodler in that called "Addons" then drag the extracted folder to @F16 and then to Addons. Thirdup 0 Posted August 12, 2009 (edited) I have extracted, say i downloaded a "F16" i would extract to arma2 addons directorythen create a folder called "@F16 then a fodler in that called "Addons" then drag the extracted folder to @F16 and then to Addons. Correct. ArmA2 root directory. C:\blah\blah\ArmA2\@F16\Addons\yadd_yada.pbo (*always check for duplicate folders like an Addons folder within another Addons folder or other screwed up stuff...some mods are uploaded in a nice neat format, others can be a gumbled clusterfuk when they get extracted) Then call the mod(s) via a launcher application (or modified desktop shortcut) Edited August 12, 2009 by Thirdup
benzilla04 10 Posted August 13, 2009 I just downloaded a weapon, done the folder thing, used the launcher, but how can i find that weapon in editor? I downloaded Type64 on ArmaHolic
